Philly Mag has a report on this morning's Wing Pole wing eating contest held at Club Risque in Philadelphia. Dave Brunelli ate 171 wings to defend his title and claim the first prize of $3,000. Steven "Mr. Mayo" Buchanan was the runner up.

    Congrats to Dave, but this was basically a bunch of no-namers versus a professional eater. So similar to the contests that Raina always participates in / arranges.

    @1053 pm— by that definition there are only a handful of professional eaters to have ever walked earth. nobody else else on the competitive Eating scene makes the amount of sponsorship income that Joey does. the other people that make a living off of “Eating” careers are doing it via social media. This includes JWebb, Reina, Joel, Leah, beard and Randy.

    @844 list the times he’s been paid thankyou. When he was a professional boxer he got paid win or lose. Key word professional as being his sole income and being able to make a living off his profession.

    Wanted to bring this info to the this thread .This contest is a local contest . Dan Kennedy was in this contest until it was discovered he did not reside in the local area. One of this contest biggest sell’s is that it is a PHILLY thing. There have been many eaters over the years that participated in this contest that have traveled and won money in contest.
