I think Tim X’s amount was around 5 1/2 lbs. Franks was over 3 lbs. The 3-way 5th place tie between me, Bubba and Hammer was actually 2 lbs. 13 oz. Places 7 through 9 went to local eaters, with totals between 1.5 lbs and 2.5 lbs. I don’t know the actual totals for them.

Horseshoes were insane. Each eater was given a 4 lb. tray to start. It included 4 slices of toast covered with 10 hamburger patties (big, thick patties, may 1/3 lb pre-cooked, the kind you’d get at Fuddruckers) and then completely covered in cheese fries. Good food, but oh my god, it was a lot!

Fun contest though. Great job to all the eaters!

Kevin the word “around” is starting to become unacceptable due to the fact that big money is at stake. God only knows how many screwups of bad judging since the inception of the organization in 2001. Final tally’s in these contests over the past 5yrs have been blown way out of proportion. The phoney totals outweigh the real totals by quite some margin. The incorporation of scales has done very little to make the results more accurate. If someone is accused of cheating and the judge does not pick up on that then they are just as responsible as the person that cheats. One of the reasons Ed Jarvis quit competitive eating was because of what i just mentioned. Too many people getting away with too much bullshit.

Sorry for the offensive and “unacceptatble” use of “around.” The officials had an accurate total for Tim’s amount. I just don’t remember what it was, so that’s why I said “around.” Drop The Whaler a line, and I’m sure he’ll give you the official total of Tim’s horseshoe 2nd place win. I just didn’t have the exact number on me.

Frank’s was accurately weighed as well. But I didn’t have the exact number with me.

Trust me, it was accurately weighed in the contest. And who said anything about cheating? No b.s. at this contest at all.

Sheesh. Chill out, man. Give Oliver Stone a call and see if he can make a new conspiracy movie about your so-called “phoney totals.”

Kevin no need to get defensive. Cheating & phoney comments i made has nothing to do with the present . I was referring to older events from past years.

This was a crazy contest nothing like what I expected the food was in 4 lb tubs not in sandwich form. Fast Eddy is an excellent MC and pretty much does a George Shea type of show. The crowd was enormous and they were really into it. Everything was weighted accurately going to the table and then on the way out. Congratulation to the everyone who competed. I was really impressed with Tim Brown a nice guy with eating skills. I hope they have this again next year but I’ll come completely prepared in 07′.
