Don, there is no way in hell you will get under 200. It’s a miracle as is that you are around 225 now.

umm…. i don’t want to be a miser, but the see-saw of your weight gain and loss might be harder on your body than you think.

When you get to your goal this time, set a new goal to stay there (or at least near.)

    Good Luck

If Don starts competing at 170 and improves, it will lend credence to the “belt of fat” theory. Ed Krachie could use it as a case study in an updated version of “The Impact of Adipose Tissue on Competitive Eating”. Take that, New England Journal of Medicine!

Be that as it may, donmoseslerman, but the severe yo-yoing is really bad. It’s actually better to be consistently fat or thin rather than fat, thin, fat, thin, fat, thin, and all.

I believe the Belt of Fat theory to be alive and well. I honestly believe, for instance, that if Cookie were to get down below 250 or so, he would be giving the new kids as much competition as they could handle.

I also believe, no, I know, that when Moses hits 170 he will again be near the top of his game, eating well over 20 Dogs, etc. As TBK hit on, the secret is to be able to maintain that weight; as there seems to be a direct, inverse correlation between the amount of stomach fat and the amount of food that one is capable of consuming.

Well, Don, what do you think? Do you feel that, in your personal experience, the belt of fat is legitimate?

In my case the belt of fat may be valid , I was better eater thin then fat , for me my legs no longer supported my body and I found it hard to stand for a 12 min. contest.

You can do it Don, you did it before. im using your 130 pound weight loss back in 2000 to help inspire me to drop weight. im down 50 pounds so far so dont quit, control your emotions to fall off the wagon and prevail.
