Even after you do all of these contests and do countless radio and TV spots and dozens of interviews for the paper you won’t be let into contests happening right up the street from your house. Pathetic!!

Actually, I’ve done 11…1 in the first year – Atlanta , 2 in the second Perry-Atlanta, 2 in year 3 Perry, Atlanta, 3 last year Chattanooga, Atlanta, Birmingham, and same three this year…a dubious record, but, still a record! And I look forward to 3 more next season.
Unless Rick Petrailia pulls out another 5 qualifier in one year deal, my “record” should be safe for awhile

Bubba you got f— over no doubt. . I can understand your frustration. I just got an email that i’m a standby for the pizza contest when i registered 12noon on the dot . I guess 9 slice pizza eaters are not welcome . This is nothing new i expected a response of that nature. The first come first serve does apply at times but if Joey . Pat ,Sonya or Humble Bob register an hour later dont expect them to give me first priority over them. I dont blame them for i would give Joey, Pat or Sonya first crack regardless of who registered first but it still doesnt make it right As far as the other locals. Eater X , Crazy Leg dont even have to register as far im concerned. So in essense it’s really first come first serve with top 10 or 15 getting first priority over you no matter what. I think that is how they run the show but they wont admit it or there might be some other underlying factors which i dont care to get in to. I am sure that others have gotten the same shaft job in the past so its no big deal as far as im concerned. I live 25 min from the contest but it seems in recent years that the closer the traveling distance the less chance i have of getting confirmed
