MLE ranking Wild Bill and Conti 20 or more spots over BB is a joke. Conti never beat Seiken by more than 2oz in any contest. If Conti is 26 Seiken should be 27 Conti is maybe 2 dogs better than Seiken and that amount will be contested come July 4 when he does his practice Granted the top 20 ranked eaters in MLE would smoke Seiken head to head but from 21-41 there are some issues. Rable Riccassa Boykin Andrew K who the hell are they? Ricassa is overranked because she is Chestnuts girfriend . Most of those names Seiken would not lose to or beat handily in one on one comp. Steak is not the eater he once was Bello is retired so is Subich. Brian D should be in the top 10 or 15 at worst. As far as 41-49 i wont even mention those names PERIOD ! 50 ranking is the pre wheatgrass juice ranking . Wait till July 4th when he does 20 or more for youtube .

Thanks for spending the entire last two years creating TBW the underdog. How many interviews this week is Miki the bomber scheduled for? When Miki wins, I’m sure she will owe it to Rich leFerve who can explain to the world that bombs threats on the 10th anniversary to an airline aren’t that bad. She paid her price. Let’s let the pr professionals handle it.

And its funny 819 Sudo the bullshit artist promised Seiken an interview for his podcast which might have sent the ratings and downloads with itunes sky high but instead she told him she doesnt want any Nathans media attention drawn to her until after the 4th . These people talk to who they want to talk to .

If she wins nobody will care and i doubt the newspapers will plug it because the Joey show is all that matters ESPN 3 draws about as much attention as those cheap cam cameras they used to simulcast the Krystal qualfiiers . Then again its an easy 10 grand in her pocket being used to further her education . That what its all $$$$ about right?

All the stats point to one thing regarding Miki versus Sonya. Miki hasn’t proven herself yet though she may have a chance to try to. Sonya will always be royalty with her long history. She wasn’t only the first big name woman, she was and continues to be the best. Even if Miki were to beat her in this one contest. http://www.sonyatheblackwidow.com/id2.html

Unlike some other people with blonde hair Sonya is taking this all in stride and doesn’t act as though a hot dog contest is the basis of her entire life.

a muddy track is to Sonya advantage. Sudo will be totally thrown off and wont be able to adjust to the adverse weather conditions

This should be a fun time for everyone. Though only one person will be crowned champ, you don’t make it to the Big Stage on Coney Island without being a winner in one’s own right.
Admittedly, next to Takeru, Sonya Thomas is my favorite competitive eater. Even if she were to lose tomorrow—-though I expect her to challenge her record of 45—-her legacy and reputation precede her. You don’t achieve her records, and you don’t go undefeated for nearly a dozen years vs same-gendered competitors, by being just pretty good or excellent.
Miki Sudo is starting at a level that Sonya did not achieve until she was many years into competitive eating. Miki has the chance to become great. I sincerely hope she attains and maintains an attitude of grace and respect for those who came before her, so that she may one day be embraced by her fans and peers as a great female competitive eater.
May both Sonya and Miki absolutely Rock The House on Coney tomorrow, and may the most deserving lady win, AND be respectful of her competitors—-the other real winners.

The reason why womans contest gets little if any exposure is because when ESPN signed on with Nathans it was about the men competition and its tradition throughout the years. There was no mention of a womans event because at the time the contract was signed womens competiiton did not exist. One would assume that Sheas tried to sell the contest to ESPN but they said no dice. Now you can understand why there is no coverage unless you want to call ESPN 3 a real network

If Sonya wins, expect the women’s Nathan’s contest to continue, with more money and opportunities for all the gals and lesser ranked men. If Miki wins, Nathan’s will shut down the separate women’s and men’s division. Nathan’s doesn’t want to have to defend the mad bomber as their champ over the next year. So if you hate the idea of separate divisions, and money going to the women and lesser ranked men eaters, root for Miki. If you’re glad the women are getting some attention, lesser ranked men eaters are getting some time on the national stage, and finally being paid for it, root for Sonya. More at stake here than meets the eye.
