Eric "Silo" Dahl reports he won today's National Lutefisk Eating Championship in Spring Grove, MN with a total of 9.5 pounds in 6 minutes. Mark "Muncher" Williams was runner up.

Wow. 9.5 lbs of anything is a pretty good score. But considering the food, this accomplishment is worth of some extra special consideration.

I made the anonymous comment accidently by not being logged in. However for anyone that has ever tried lutefisk, many people can’t get past the 2nd bite. I feel this is one of the biggest accomplishments of 2012 so far. Lutefisk was an invention of necessity as the norwegians of yesteryear did not have refrigeration and this was a good way to safely eat the fish without it spoiling. I am still amazed at this kind of number.
