Erik Denmark’s top 10 on missing the Krystal finals
Erik Denmark has a blog entry about the Memphis Krystal qualifier which concludes with his top 10 benefits of missing the Krystal Square Off finals. His final 3 items in the list:
3 – Not having to convince my friends and family to get in their car and drive 60 miles to the nearest bar that carries FSN South to watch me for a split second while the camera pans to the middle of the table
2 – Avoid the depressing realization that I won’t get the final burger count because I have to sprint off the stage and straight to the airport to catch the last flight back to Seattle because it is Sunday and I have to work tomorrow
1 – I still have a chance to win a contest and a title in Lewisville on Saturday!

I think it is a disgrace tht Erik the red is not in the contest. If i were him i would call the shea’s and tell them If i dont get flown out to chatty to compete where i rightfully belong, then Im quitting to join the aice !

Erik spent a lot of his own money traveling all the way from the Seattle area. I think it would be extremely cheap of MLE to keep him from coming to the finals. The man has earned the trip! I don’t like breaking rules (having more than the allotted 12 eaters at the table), and believe that exceptions are warranted only on a case-by-case basis. Well, this is one of those times. As a matter of fact, without Erik in the lineup (excluding Sonya), I feel comfortable that the top 11 MLE Krystal eaters will not be there.
I hope the IFOCE learns something from all this, and I hope they start by enforcing standardized rules on a consistent basis. They can start, in turn, by not letting eaters go to another tray of Krystals until all debris from both the cups and each eater’s area is consumed before presenting the eater with a subsequent tray of burgers. (Someone else said this earlier, and I agree.)
When you have to deduct more than three or four food items (Krystals, HDBs, etc.), you need to disqualify that eater. Once you do this once or twice, eaters will get the message and stop d**king around. And if they can’t get things organized and eat by the rules, well, there’s always pie-eating at the local fairs. “Pro” eaters consistently eating sloppily is the equivalent of an outfielder in MLB consistently missing routine ground balls. It’s just basic stuff!

why would the sheas or krystal fly erik in when he basically trashes chattanooga and krystals on his blog? totally classless of him. and the guy didn’t qualify for the finals. period. from the video there’s no question he didn’t do anymore than 50 in memphis …i heard even the crowd booed him for cramming at the end. And 43 in Nashville? what’s the point of him competing in chattanooga? serves no one but himself.

Earned the trip? Then WIld Bill should be in the finals too. He spends a ton of his time and money traveling to events every year and gets a hell of a lot less than Erik. What’s the lesson IFOCE is supposed to learn? Erik will get mad and publicly diss your judging, your contest, your city or another eater?

I dont know how you are , anommymous, but Erik is not a disgrace, Erik is truthful man, he likes the truth.If you look at the videl where Crazy Legs ate less than he was counted then where is the truth? Erik had at least 52 in his mounth, but they judges didnt count those two for some stupid reason.
