Erik “the Red” Denmark has a detailed writeup of Saturday’s Nathan’s hot dog qualifier at Sunrise FL with the top 8 finishers. If the 3rd place finisher was Bryan Miller, he also had strong performances at Krystal qualifiers in Savannah and Jacksonville last fall. I am curious if there was any PETA presence at the contest.

As far as PETA protesters they were restricted to a very small area really far a way. As Larry can attest the security guards at the arena were not screwing around. After Larry and I conned our way inside with out a ticket (The Will Call window was closed at this time) to hang out in the AC the overzealous guards tossed us out. It didn’t help that Larry had constructed a huge Anti PETA sign the said “If god didn’t want us to eat animals then why are they made of MEAT?” and was carrying it at that time. Hell they wouldn’t let us back in to pee or put our backpacks on the stage anywhere, a SWAT guy was literally following Larry around I guess it’s because he looked like Robert Deniro in Taxi driver. That Bryan Miller guy is a good eater he is a local rib eating champ 3 yrs running from Ft. Meyers.
