ESPN Front Row has a blog entry and video about the eating contest held Friday at ESPN headquarters in which Crazy Legs Conti defeated Maria "Edible" 13.5 hot dogs to 12 in the five minute competition. Conti will attempt to qualify in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Charlotte.

    Who ever goes to these qualifiers better demand Conti’s cups are checked & he deducted for debris. Old habits are hard to break. I’d hate to see him steal another win like he did from the rabbit a few yrs ago. Everybody else eats fair why doesn’t he have to…..because he gives good interviews? What a sick world.

The other eaters who eat beside him are too chicken to say anything, full grown, adults, being bullied, by a fake organization, that allows certian eaters to cheat their way to victory. How sick can it be that people who are weak in every way possible let this injustice prevail???? I’m talking about the other eaters who do not stand up for what is right and just. God gave you a voice use it to expose this cheat of a human being when it comes time too!!!!!! He will have full buns and dogs hidden in his dark liquid and under the table wear he eats!

    Gentleman Joe is the only person to make a constructive comment on this entire thread. He’s the only one who’s not anonymous, ironically. That seems par, however unfortunate, for the course, given the ability of cowards, whose only purpose in posting such negativity, is to harm. (Those anonymous comments are being made by no more than two, maybe three, people, tops, by the way.)

    I totally agree with GJoe. CLegs would be a perfect fit for ESPN’s Nathan’s coverage. The guy is most intelligent, clever, spontaneous. well spoken, well written, humorous, fun, and entertaining, whom CE fans associate with and appreciate. He is also very, very handsome, and can be a most dapper dresser, depending on the need for it. So the “can’t live up to ESPN dress code standards” argument is simply another rationalization against Legs, out of still another elusive quality to be jealous of.

    You anonymous, jealous, mean-spirited douchebags cannot elevate yourselves by trying to pull a most decent human being down to your subterrainean level—-too far a distance to descend to. Of course, that’s why you jackasses reap what you do today.

    James Flames it is unfortunate that most of the eaters in the IFOCE take the Kitty Genovese approach when it comes to Legs or any other injustice at or off the table. When i use the term “off” the table i meant someone being bullied or harassed on here or in person. They take the i don’t want to get involved approach or “If i am not the victim why should i get involved” IFOCE and Sheas are not to blame one bit. When you work at a job the union can do only so much to change a bad situation. If the workers do not stick together the union is virtually useless. If enough people and i mean ate least 15 eaters complained about Legs shenanigans at the table , i will bet that somehow the matter would be resolved. Until then expect the same crap year after year after year

    You are correct in one thing. What goes around comes around. Which is why a lot of us are praying he doesn’t sneak bye a qualifier to make the final table like he’s done multiple times in years past and much like he did this year with wings and a win in corn. Every time he goes to the table he seems to make at least one new enemy.

    Jason is a nice guy to your face, but once you turn around, he’ll stab you in the back if it’ll benefit him in any way. The guy is a total snake, and it looks like he’s embraced his new roll with his whole “Villain” persona… Didn’t Wing Kong (or Candy man now) sport a handle bar mustache last year?

    As far as being a recognizable face in CE, yeah I will agree with that, but that’s only because MLE has forced this guy down our throats for years. He’s decent in front of a camera, his interviews are mildly entertaining at best. For my money the most laughable/interesting interviews are given by Pat B and Tim Brown.

    I agree with GJoe, CLC really should use his mouth for speaking and not eating and become an Emcee or MLE employee, he’ll get more face time. It’s clear he loves the sport, he just doesn’t respect it by the way he plays it.

    Whether Conti is a snake or two faced is a matter of personal opinion. All i know is that he he shows litle remorse for anyone at the Nathans table that was given a bum deal because of him. When the tables were turned last year and they gave it to Subich, what did he do? Stormed out of the building like a stubborn child put his head under the covers and refused to speak to anyone for weeks. His reward, an enlarged image even larger than Chestnut on Wall of fame while other legendary eaters images were clearly shrunk. . The iceing on the cake was an all inclusive trip to CP biggest eater challenge. What more can you ask for ?

    Rhonda, I generally agree with you but MLE Vet has a point. Hard to call out someone as anonymous when no one knows who you are either.

    There are many of us that have problems with the way things are run but it’s the only game in town. If we don’t like it, sure we can go the indy route, but then we give up on the Nathan’s dream and no longer get to eat with the best. There is a significant amount of mystery that goes on in the NY office and complaining only gets eaters branded with a scarlet letter. Why should I attach my real name to any post that could get me blacklisted? It’s hard enough getting into contests as it is so is it worthwhile getting on the wrong side of the powers that be and risk not getting in at all anymore? It’s nice to know that there are others that share the same opinions and be able to discuss it (even civilly sometimes) but honestly, what can we do? I appreciate Joe for speaking his mind but he’s in a different place than I am. I don’t post much but when I do, I will continue to stay hidden.

    Eaters have told him to his face about their issues, they’ve also told Emcee’s to watch for CLC as well as sponsors (Nathan’s reps) and have sent emails to MLE about the issue, what did that change? NOTHING!

    How do I know this, because I’m an eater and I’m in touch with other eaters about this issue.

    How do you NOT know this, because you’re just some person who posts behind your desk Mon-Fri 9 to 5 on eatfeats.com under the screen name “Rhonda Evans”… You view things from the outside looking in and based on your posts, it’s from a far distance to boot.

    I think Rhonda is one of the few persons in this argument fest with some sanity. The rest of you people sound petty and with a personal agenda and axe to grind against Jason. So you don’t like Jason, it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t sound like any of you people are talented enough to be affected by any cheating that he may or may not have done.     Conti cares more about organizing his after party then qualifying. If nobody showed up at his afterparty he would not make such a big deal about getting to the finals. Honestly what is the point of him being at the table on 4th of July? He has never been a threat to Joey Bob or the other big eaters. He can barely crack 20 so what is the big deal for him?
