    Yeah, you SOB!!

Back on topic, that’s a pretty sweet prize for a non-IFOCE contest. Aside from Wing Bowl, what’s the largest cash prize ever awarded for a non-IFOCE contest?

Food Battle Club awarded a million yen (around $100,000)

The Bridezilla wedding cake contest in 2007 awarded $25,000

The unfortunate thing is that you have to go there to sign up.
So if you don’t live down there, you’re going to have to fly down and hope you can get in.
On top of that, the last 25 people or so are drawn at random.
    I’d be down there otherwise….

    I’ll take the bait.

If you are talking about truly “open” contests, I won Ribs in Boise, Id for $5,000. & Wings outside of Toronto for $5,000. each.

The $25,000. was for women only. I don’t know about Food Battle Club, but I think it only had Japanese eaters in it.
McCormack had a $10,000. for shrimp for yrs, but it wasn’t really open, though Charles Hardy did get in it, but didn’t win.
I think Oreo had a $10,000. but it was for how quick you lick the frosting off like one cookie.
The 7/11 thing in the Phillipines is good but, is only for Philipinos.

I too would be there Will if not for the reasons you’ve already mentioned.

I thought with Wing Bowl, its a vehicle, NOT a cash prize & when not a virgin version, is an ifoce contest.

I was in attendance at this contest today. There were 54 competitors with the chance to eat as many hot dogs as they could in 3 minutes. First prize was $2500 and second was $1000. 12 dogs took first and 11 took second. It was a father and son who placed first and second, respectively. There was quite an array of competitors on site and the people watching was pretty epic. I’m posting some photos and video on our blog tonight or tomorrow (getinmybellyapp.wordpress.com). It was kind of a lame setup because they only let 6 people eat at a time, but I guess the casino wanted to slow play things to keep people hanging around. Good times.
