Kickstarter has a page seeking to raise $6,000 by December 31 to fund the production of the pilot episode of The Hungry Todd Rungy Show. $1,980 has already been raised.

    We’re over the $2000 dollar mark now, more than a 1/3rd of the way there, but we still need your help!     I suggest you contact Randy Santel, Furious Pete, or maybe even Koby. They’re all making a ton o’ buck at this eating thing:). If nothing else, maybe they’ll tell you how to get your name out there (outside of Austin?). Not to be rude, but who the hell are you? Here’s a sure-fire way to get some cash rolling in – beat someone. There are probably a thousand “great eaters” out there that play the game on who’s dime? – Guess. There are a very elite few that can ask for stuff and actually get it. They’ve all worked their butts off to get it.

    It’s a little harder than “gimme some cash so I can promote myself.” But best of luck.

    I WAS going to give some money to some starving children or maybe one of those little homeless kittens with the oozing eye and their lil’ chin resting on the bar of the cage in the shelter ..but you make a good point!

    Sorry for the confusion Capt. Bringdown, it’s not me outright asking you for money, it’s the film crew that really needs the help. And since this is a shared media project, Kickstarter is the best source for crowd-funding and EatFeats is the best place for competitive food eating news, seem like the places to be! We’re just spreading the word and hoping some of y’all like it, and will even be inspired to donate. We totally understand if you give money to starving children or little homeless kittens before us, but if you want be a part of a tv show we feel that has great potential for success, we ask you to help us out sometime this month. Please, just give us a chance!

    I agree Capt. Bringdown. There’s a saying, “The harder I work, the luckier I get.” That probably goes for Randy,Pete, and Koby, as well as a handfull of others.

    One thing I’d suggest is to befriend more competitive waters instead of just only doing your own thing. More opportunity and ideas always comes from networking.
