Getting back on topic, I’m glad Pete’s all right. It’s a great wonder to me that choking on food doesn’t happen more often than most of us suspect, especially behind the scenes.

What scares me most is all the independents, who see Joey or Sonya on tv and think they can do that at their local Denny’s or on the web in their kitchen. These indies often have no idea the talent level difference between a Joey Chestnut and themselves. Besides the MLE goes to great lengths to make sure EMTs are always on hand, even in these tv television demos. I wonder if the British station had an EMT? I hope at this point that is a dealbreaker, requirement for any appearance by Furious “Pete.”

I get scared myself when I see people eat hard-boiled eggs. I like them, but they just don’t go down quickly, and if I force them down too fast I’ll either choke or pieces will come out my nose, or both. They’re so dense and dry!

It is so amazing to see Sonya, Erik Denmark, or anyone else eat them as quickly as they do. I won’t even get in to jalapeno peppers, and the same names come up, along with the KING of peppers himself, Pat Bertoletti.

When it comes to jalapeno peppers, I think those three could eat more than any half dozen or so people on the planet! Absolutely amazing!

@1:58 since MLE goes to great lengths to make sure EMT’s are always on hand, how many EMT’s do you think were at matt stonie’s MLE sponsored birthday cake You Tube video that MLE now recognizes as a record??? Do you actually think there were ANY EMT’s there??? The answer is no. Total hypocracy and goes completely against their proclamations of “safety”. Totally delusional – take off the blinders!

EMT were also not present when people recorded videos for the Jello Pudding Prix

A new name for eatfeats coming to you soon. cewhistleblower.com. Maybe OJ is hiding in plain sight but regardless, were he to suddenly disappear or if eatfeats were, he would not have to worry about extradition. Fun, fun, fun.

1:58 — Thanks for making my argument that eating competitively without medical assistance is stupid and unsafe. Do MLE eaters practice unsafe behavior? You bet. But, as it stands now, today, if there’s a contest, tv appearance, EMTs will be on hand. Unless some MLE eater is freelancing without MLE’s approval. OJ, Jello Pudding Prix, what was that in 1924? What some young, inexperienced young adult for attention does at home, well MLE isn’t their daddy. But I guarantee you, that just about everything independent eaters do is unsafe, without proper medical assistance nearby. Just because an MLE eater practices the same stupid behavior sometimes doesn’t make it right. There will be a tragedy, and you can blame that stupid MLE eater or most likely or some independent kid who thinks he’s Joey Chestnut practicing unsafe behavior. Take off your blinders.

Glad Pete is a-okay, I know ALL of us have been there.

    “Be Safe”,

While MLE rules don’t like for you to “practice” you know EVERYBODY does, it’s no secret. Heck, Ever watch any of Matt Stonies 60 second videos? he chokes in almost all of them, it scares me sometimes when I watch, then again there is a reason why that kid is prolly the fastest eater in the world a 0-60 second time frame, Megatoad don’t give a sh!t.

@2:43 From what I remember Stonie did have EMTs for his Birthday Cake stunt, he showed them in the video. Stop letting your Anti-MLE eyes deceive u.

Anon 2:43 — Quick to hand out criticism, but slow to stand up and admit you were wrong. You should apologize but don’t have the balls. About the only thing you’ve proven now is you don’t know what you’re talking about, won’t admit when you’re wrong, and must be the only one on the planet who is stupid enought defend the practice of eating chokeable food without available proper medical attention. I’ve already said that there are a few MLE eaters who occasionally on their own time do stupid things. That’s not the point. You and your kind are one those dumbass eaters doing stupid things all the time and when a tragedy occurs the greatest risk for any future of competitive eating. Also, how the hell can anyone choke on a cup of Jello? Seriously, we’re talking Jello here folks? You know that stuff that is 99.9 percent water? What is the Jello suddenly going to turn into a chicken bone when it hits your throat? C’mon OJ you’re better than that.

This was my first time to choke on TV and I’ve been doing it a little while now. It was a little bit embarrassing but the segment overall was good, so at the end of the day thats what matter. Kind of put things in perspective though that things like this can happen and you have to be careful, not worth trying to get it down for a few minutes to risk your life.
