GJoe to do Bubba Dogs (NJ) contest Saturday

The blog for Bubba Dogs reports that “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti will compete in their hot dog eating contest in Sea Isle City, NJ on Saturday. The entrance fee for the contest is $15. Prizes will include Flyers Club Box Seats, limousine service and restaurant gift certificates to Smithville Inn & Lobster Loft.

    Even though I paid my $15. entry fee, I hadn’t decided for sure I would go. Especially since no one had contacted me.

    I guess i’m going to have to make those Flyers club box seats, or a better prize?!, mine all mine.

    I believe Boone won $10. per dog ($240.) for driving 70 miles north. Not bad, for a slightly larger than normal meal.

    Joe, (I’m trying to help you out here), I hope the Bubba Dogs people don’t pull a David Letterman, like that time Crazy Legs received a mere $25.00 gift certificate to eat at Red Lobster for his Oyster performance on Letterman a couple of years ago.

    Though Legs smiled and seemed appreciative, he must have felt at least a bit insulted, because $25.00 would not evein BEGIN to cover an appetizer at a seafood restaurant for a competitive eater.

    Could you imagine how much money it would take to feed Sonya at an Oyster House?
