Detroit News reports that the winners of the crack fries eating contest at Hop Cat locations in Michigan (Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Ann Arbor) will be eligible to compete in a contest at the Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, MI that will award $2000 to the winner.

    This is for all the locations and not just the michigan locations.

    I was told that all 7 open locations are having the preliminary contest on 1/23 (which also means Broad Ripple (Indianapolis), Madison, and Lexington). Lincoln is not yet open. I was also told by the restaurant all winners would go to Ypsilanti for the finals, but according to the article cited above, it is just the 4 Michigan stores.

    Previously, some locations gave $500 to the winner, but I don’t think there was any advancement to the finals back then.

    Hi OJ, there still are no contests in the database listed for HopCat in Ann Arbor and Detroit. Also, the HopCat East Lansing location in the database is listed as “Grand River”:

    I would just enter the contest listings myself, but I am worried they would not be approved.
