Houston matzoh ball contest information

The Matzo ball contest at Kenny and Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen in Houston is now listed on the IFOCE schedule for March 2. The contest purse is $1500 and registration opens February 6. Unlike the contest listing on my-table.com, the IFOCE contest page does not mention a minimum $250 donation for entrance into the contest.

I would most definitely do it if the event was in New York. Not going to Texas for that small cash payout.

The $250 donation is for amateur competitors not IFOCE members, and I will DEFINITELY BE THERE! Small payout or not it will be a blast. They don’t do anything small in Texas. Especially Houston. I heard there will be a separate contest division for media personalities, since Marvin Zindler was a member of the media.

i have been talking to the girl who is doing the promotions for this and im trying to find out for sure if there is or is not an entry fee, im the only houston eater that i know of and im not offically an ifoce paid eater,so does that mean that i have to shell out 250 to enter this contest????? cause if thats the case i will just go watch this event instead of trying to eat at it…Have A Nice Day
