“Humanly Impossible” competitive eating clip
The segment from last night’s episode of Humanly Impossible featuring competitive eaters “Furious” Pete Czerwinski and Will Millender (called Willie) has been captured and uploaded. Dr. David Metz, who has appeared in previous programs about competitive eating, provides commentary.

The doctor (made for tv quack) mentions nothing about the potential risk of colon cancer or any other gastro diseases that might occur when they get older . Instead of two eaters that are relatively young, why don’t they take images or run a colonoscopy of two eaters mid to late 40’s and evaluate the damage that has progressed over the years.

There have been deaths from speed eating.
And several from a game called “Chubby bunny”.
Chubby bunny is a game where you fill your mouth with as many marshmallows as you can, then you have to say “chubby bunny”.
I’ve heard of a coupleof girls killing theirselves playing this game.

Not in any recognized CE organizations: AICE or IFOCE. The chubby bunny think is done out of sheer ignorance/stupidity.
Failing to clear the airway of any obstruction is certain death —- might as well just put a plastic bag over the head.
That’s why no organization worth its salt can go on record and endorse practicing speed-eating. Yeah, even if you practice alone, the chance of a fatal accident might only be one out of a thousand … or even ten thousand, but if enough eaters were to practice enough times that chance is likely to present itself.
And heaven forbid, the first instance of an organization-sanctioned eater having a near- (or actual) fatal experience would all but destroy CE. It would be all over the news, all over the globe.

That ‘s Not competitive eating …. eating -means eating the food .. not stuffing the food in your mouth. And not one death has happen in Pro-eating . thanks to IFOCE . And now things should be even safer with WLOCE in control of all International contests.

Rhonda , since eafteats inception you have never ever misspelled one word and your grammar is flawless . I bet you are so meticulous that your fender would never accidently tap another vehicle whle parking and i would fathom that an accidental spit would never protrude from your mouth while conversating with someone. Am i correct to assume such ?

Well, I stand corrected.
But there have been deaths in eating contests before.
And if I’m not mistaken it was reported on this site.

Several years ago Dale almost lost it against Sonya in Jumbalaya but the EMTs were right there and Heimliched him. I agree, if you can say anything good about the IFOCE it’s that safety comes first. Heck, even when they set up interviews an EMT is always on hand. Safety wise, what scares me is the Wing Bowl. So many eaters, so much booze, and many eaters wind up puking backstage in the locker room not in range of the EMTs.

The only deaths I’ve ever heard about from contests was some bone heads at a radio station allowing some woman to drink too much water. And, in Russia and Eastern Europe there have been alcohol cases of guys drinking themselves to death in contests. The last time I can even remember a pro puking at an IFOCE event was a projectile case several years ago at Nathan’s with this poor guy from Thailand. Whoosh — right into the crowd. I think it started some sort of chain reaction with other eaters. And this year, that poor kid they selected from amateurs at Krystal winded up puking after eating about five burgers. And that occured after the event.

Anony 1100, yes, I am a bit anal-retentive about that, but I surely do make grammatical, as well as spelling mistakes sometimes, right here on eatfeats too.

I have updated the eating / drinking contest fatalities list. There have been five eating contest deaths in the eastern hemisphere since the start of 2008.
