Humble Bob sets Krystal qualifier record

Top 3 from today’s Nashville qualifier from Krystal Square Off.com

One day after setting the two-minute Krystal Record, Humble Bob Shoudt ate 69 Krystals to set the new Nashville, TN eight-minute record. Shoudt’s 69 Krystals easily outpaced second-place finisher Juris Shibayama’s 39 Krystals. In third place was Kevin Ross with 30.

Shoudt’s 69 sets a qualifier record, breaking the mark set by Sonya Thomas last year. Shibayama’s 39 puts him in first place in the wildcard standings.

Bob looking very strong today, and he said ” IT WAS A SLOW DAY FOR ME… COULD HAVE DONE MORE”. Well Bob when you break the 2min record by ten less than 24hrs before the 8min comp. You set yourself up for a personal disappointment. However his personal best in 06′ was 65. So nothing to be disappointed about. I love the evolution of the sport! Will Koby, Joey or Pat break into the 100’s possibly somewhere north of 115? Even if Gentleman Joe was allowed to compete today, Bob would have man handled him like Helen Hagarty handles a field hockey stick! No doubt Shoubt! Go BOB!

Do not mention Humble Bob and Sonya Thomas in the same sentence because Bob is way way above her and there is truly no comparison. She will be ranked about number 25 after the krystal finals.

    Luther YES LUTHER!

Yeah, he’s not a shabby eater either. Let’s face it, “drinking” food really taxes stomach capacity. If you were to ask many MLE eaters, many would rather NOT dunk food. You want to talk no dunking. Let’s talk no dunking then:

Pat and Sonya both broke the old 3 Bothers Pizza record of 19, by eating 22 and 20 slices, respectively, of 16 – 18-inch cheese pizza, in which dunking was prohibited.
Joey and Sonya both ate 212 and 210 Gyozas in 10 minutes in LA. That was a nondunking food.
Sonya: 44 Lobsters in 12 minutes: no dunking; Deep Fried Okra: 9.75 lbs in 10 minutes: a nondunking food..
Pat Bertoletti: 15 1/4 lbs of Strawberry Shortcake in 8 minutes: A nondunking food.
Tim Janus: 71 Tamales in 12 minutes: A nondunking food..
Don “Moses” Lerman: 6 lbs of Baked Beans in a minute 48 seconds: a nondunking food.
Kobayashi: 58 Johnsonville Brats in 10 minutes: a nondunking event.

So don’t sit there and insinuate that your eaters are the kings and queens of nondunking. While Vac, Goose, Ian, and snake-like Joe are certainly top line eaters, I’d say that, if anything, it takes something extra to win a dunking event. MLE eaters are deep enough to dominate in either type of event.
