IFOCE PB & J contest at Knott’s Berry Farm (Cal.) Aug 8

An IFOCE peanut butter & jelly sandwich eating contest will be held at Knott’s Berry Farm in southern California on August 8 to promote the start of the 2007 Drum Corps International Summer Music Games World Championships.

Registration opens tomorrow at noon eastern. The total purse is $3000.

    STUNT FOOD! All of you lesser knowns &/or table enders should give this one a shot, it will be one of your few chances to either beat Joey or have comprable numbers.

    As long as its allowed figure out a drink (probably hot) to help break down the peanut butter.

    Joey has also said that his weakest events are sweets/deserts. So if Joey is going to compete in this event it definitely will be a tough one for him… but guys like Kevin Ross still don’t have much of a chance over Joey or Pat.

    I’d be offended, but you’re absolutely right I have no chance against Joey or Pat (I am sure Gjoe was referring to people in the top 15 or something who actually could pull out an upset like that). But I think the difficulty/technique factor of this will be dictated by how much peanut butter is in the sammiches. It’ll be a very different contest with a thin spread of peanut butter than gobbed full of the stuff.

    I think we just found a possible food for our mini contest after the Strongman show this Saturday!! It’ll be just like Nathan’s in VEGAS, only this time, I’ll whoop you, instead of tying you.

    IMO Joey will win this too. Of course, Pat B is always the wild card.

    Because traveling is so difficult for me and my bubble, I’d really hoped to go to the next West Coast event. But I’m allergic to peanuts.
