Slap in the face to any eater in the country who, 1- hasn’t won recently and has a few extra $$$$$ to be able to afford this 2- isn’t on the mle gravy train and gets their expended paid( although they claim not to do this and I have personally had expences paid in the past) 3- isn’t independently wealthy or has parents paying the way for their child’s hobby. When will everyone see mle for what they are, business men taking care of what they have built. The eaters are a commodity , a product they sell to their clients. This is no more a “league” than kfc is a fried chicken league. In a real league eaters would have agents that represent them not one governing body which makes the rules up as it pertains to the particular circumstance

One more thing a “taco” in Puerto Rico is nothing like a Mexican taco. Generally they involve some sort of wrapper, which really reminds me a lot of a wonton or egg roll wrapper, which they fill with a variety of things, including meat, seafood, or cheese, wrap up like a burrito, and deep fry. Anyway what the hell do I know I’m only a Chef with a Bachelors degree with honors from one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the country

All eaters should be treated equally regardless of whether you have the talent of Koby or lack thereof. Competitive eating should be about brotherhood. I would like to see all prize money banished, period.

Actually if you live in south florida a ticket to puerto rico is a lot less expensive than you would think…not that I looked into it or anything!

1:38 exactly my point taco bell soft taco have nothing to do with the culture or culinary backround of P.R. the only thing I can figure is yum brands (Taco bell parent co.)is trying to break into that market

Taco Bell currently sells their tacos for over 2x’s the price of that of Del Taco. Why pay more? Many of you guys and girls have big appetites and it would take more money to fill that void by eating Taco Bell. Just saying. I guess it will cost more to go to Puerto Rico as well. Maybe MLE should have just had like a Bertolletti vs. Sonya or Bob vs. Joey.

Joe, I don’t get your point. There are dozens of Taco Bell locations on the small island of Puerto Rico. Taco Bell already broken into the market.

12:43 the point is diversity… a closed mind assumes all spanish and latin people eat (Taco Bell) tacos, makes no sense. it’s like taking the oscar mayer hot dog to germany. Oh,also the assumption that within the small community of competitive eaters we can just drop everything and go to P.R.

Who are the three Joes commenting here, oh never mind, who could possibly follow all of the names. If it is inexpensive to go from Florida, Wrecking Ball could look into it. It seems that lots of eaters combine taking a vacation with a contest. Pat from Moonachie……..go for it. Larell, you will continue to thrive in CE wherever you eat.

Stallion, Yup, that’s exactly what we did w/our trip to Biloxi. We made it a little extended adult gateway since I had to drop outta meatballs last minute due to hubby’s post-surgery condition. Dang, lol, I shlda held out for Puerto Rico 🙂

Then get your league up and running Joe. I know you triped before but make it happen and reward eveyone for just showing up.
A trip to PR would run about 500.00 for a weekend. If you can not afford it then you do not go. Simple. I could not afford to drive or fly to Texas for gyros or South Floida for corned beef. I ciould not go then. Make a trip out of it like the normal eaters do. Also name ten latin people that do not eat tacos? It is like canoli at the Italian festival or drunk Irish. Just part of life.

    Responding to Eaters:

Stephanie Wu vanished from the CE scene. Her website is no longer up, and she hasn’t posted anything here or on facebook to suggest she has any interest in this activity anymore. I hope she’s OK.

Jessica Abdul Hussein stopped doing restaurant challenges. She posted a few comments on this site to that effect in the past. There’s a chance she may return, but don’t count on it anytime soon.

Keep listening to stallion and the other anonymous posters claiming how ownderful and great this site is and how they wake up with their morning coffee anxious to read the next update. But they forget that its the hateful sidebar comments about Seiken , Juliet Stephanie Wu and many others. To that sniveling cowardly bastard that insists that Seiken’s commentary has destroyed lives and relationships amongst eaters, maybe its this very site that is responsible for those actions and nobody else

@AYYY You can have fun with my CE numbers and even talk about a reversal that I have never had but why bring in a wedding proposal? Did it upset you that much that I proposed before a contest? Stick to making fun of me and my numbers but leave my personal life out of it, thanks.
