Makes perfect sense: littlest eater … female … ready-made proverbial David and Goliath(s) story. Powerful stuff!

“Black Widow” v. “Furious” I’d pay to see that. First event held in the Philippeans, Pete chooses the food and time limit, we’ll call it the “Filla in Manila.” Second event held in Zaire, Sonya chooses the food and time limit, call it the “Grumble in the Jungle.” The last and deciding event at Caesar’s Place, Las Vegas, food and time limit chosen by an independent body — Eatingmania I “The Vomitorium.” I can dream can’t I?

I think Pete would easily sweep all events. He’d just too good.

I don’t know. They are two warriors.

If Sonya chose oysters and 10 minutes, I’d give her the edge. But Pete would probably get her in a long contest of a high volume food like Grits. Whatever, it would be interesting.

As BB implied in his Bits and Pieces earlier this month, Sonya has gotten a second wind as of late. She’s won, what, a half dozen contests since last September? And she finished ahead of some top three eaters in the process.
