The Daily Herald has an article about Jacob Larry auditioning for NBC's The Biggest Loser. He brought a trophy, a giant check and 40 competitive eating T-shirts to the audition and said he intended to make changes in his life which apparently include retirement from competitive eating.

I’ve been out of the CE loop for the past few years. Is Jacob Larry a known eater?

Jacob Larry won money at two MLE contests in May. It was recently announced he signed a MLE contract.

Hey, I just wanted to clear some things up. I told the reporter that I would stop competitive eating if I made it on the show. I do need to live a healthier lifestyle no matter what. That is one reason why I joined the MLE, so I am not tempted to do challenges and gift card contests. I have always been a big guy but, competitive eating didn’t make me fat I did.

Jacob, that’s a real courageous and responsible thing to say, and I think your logic is valid. Competing for MLE will certainly entice you to avoid challenges, which, in turn, will help keep down the calories.
Also, you could focus on participating in some of the events that use lower calorie foods, avoiding things like sweets and fried foods.
I’ll be pulling for you! 🙂
