Metromix has a gallery of the August 18 tofu eating contest in Los Angeles. One of the pictures is captioned:
Danny Meza ultimately came in third behind the winner Jim Donahue who Hoover-sucked his tofu in 16 seconds. Still, he won a half-day fishing trip (2nd place received a 3/4-day trip) which is not bad at all.

So, at 1st I thought the winner won a half day fishing trip & 2nd won 3/4ths of a day of fishing which I thought was hilarious.
But, I figured that was 2nd & 3rd, not 1st & 2nd. Does this mean Jed won a whole day fishing trip??
Or, did he win a similar prize to last years winner, a 9? day culinary trip to China.

So I guess this means Jim Donahue is a rogue eater? No affiliation… not IFOCE, not AICE… just wondering the streets for non-affiliated eating contests…
