Joe Menchetti easily wins Schnack 30 inch hot dog contest

The Gothamist blog has an entry about today’s Schnack Stahl-Meyer 30 inch Hot Dog Eating Contest in Brooklyn. Joe Menchetti easily defended his title and won $500 by finishing his megafrankfurter in 1 minute 53 seconds.

    Im sure alot of females would have found this a rather interesting contest thinking of the 30” hot dog as something else they wish their spouse or boyfriend had

    Gentleman Joe can actually eat and has skill so just snatching it ain’t going to work. Joe is the only person with skill over there that’s why he constantly pounds dents in those guys at every contest. I

    For those of you that despise Joe Menchetti with a passion i can say that after debating and arguing with him for three years he has never resorted to any type of mud slinging or personal slander on behalf of myself or any other eater in the IFOCE. Calling someone a “loser” is not the same as calling someone a faggot or ragging on someones personal features “fat” ” retarded” “bitch slapping” etc etc.Comments of that nature can be equated with someone that is of the lowest common denominaton or has serious issues such as alcohol abuse. Did i strike a nerve? D.O. Those two sorry ass excuses for human beings dont even deserve a response from me but considering that O.J Rifkin has gone back on his word time and time again condoning this type of activity gives me the impression that he enjoys this kind of behavior.People say ignore them and they will go away. I would love to see if half of you would turn the other cheek if the same kind of slanderous remarks were directed to you.

    I have to agree Gentleman Joe usually stays within the realm of competitive eating when it comes to bashing. Education plays a big part in that . I guess the other dudes suffer from a lack of.

    Brian, I agree with all of your other stances except that of menchetti slinging mud. He made slanderous statements about the lefevres and is questioning the performance of joey chestnut. He should worry about not competing in real contests. If he really wants to get into the ifoce he should start sucking up to the shea’s. Not bash them and sign up for every ifoce contest. What kind of two face prick signs up for every contest and religiously bashes the founders. Without the sheas there would be no competitive eating, you think chapman would have left and started this. No way in hell, he had to rip the idea from someone. The fact that eaters get prize money is pretty bad ass. It is proven that independent and restaurant challenges pay little. There is no point in bashing or criticizing people from the side lines, it’s desperation at best.

    I’m not sure what you’re talking about re: the LeFevre’s, they have my email address & i’ve made contact w/ Rich a time or two. If they have a problem w/ anything I’ve written they can address it w/me. I know Rich logs on occasionally, cuz he broke my stones about calling Winchell’s a ‘minor doughnut chain’.

    I NEVER questioned how good Chestnut is. I just think he’s a half a notch below Kobe. That’s a GOOD thing. On a good day i’m half the eater Kobe is… Chestnut is 5/6ths the eater Kobe is, & Sonya’s 3/4th’s.

    I’ve bashed the Shea’s, Chapman, Brian’s squared, Conti, etc. In nearly all cases it has been deserved. If you read speedeat, I think you’ll notice that for the last 9-10 months i’ve substantially cut back on bashing (frankly my site has become a little boring because of that) Do you have any idea how hard its been to not jump on the aifl football stuff re Subich?! Beautiful Brian bashes the Shea’s more than I do now.

    How do you know whether i’ve signed up for any fed contests?????

    I do mostly agree w/you that there would be very few substantial events w/out the Shea’s & their evil geniusness. (did I just create a word?) I had many issues w/them when I left. They’ve addressed in good measure a good chunk of them. Because of me, Coondog & Chapman they have made changes for the better. Don’t think for one moment, it was because they saw the light. If they could get away w/ maxing out w/$500. as a grand prize they would. I think no prize of substance @ Nathan’s proves that.

    Chapman may not be perfect, but he gets that its not just about how much he (aice) can make. He will assist others in making $$$ if he can instead of thinking that he owns anything re: competitive eating . Sorry if I’m beginning to ramble.

    I’m not on the sidelines. I’ve likely competed in more contests than anyone else in the world.

    I hate to pull a LERMAN ,BUT THANKS TO THOSE CONGRATULATING ME & ALL. I ATE THAT 30″ DOG LIKE GRANT WENT THRU RICHMOND.

    Hey, Ed Charles,I hate to disappoint, but I think Chapman has a Masters & I don’t quite have an Associate degree. I’m not sure about Coondog. Thanks for the sentiment though.
