Gabe Venit emails that “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti won the first qualifier for Jake’s Burgers contest yesterday by eating 5 Jake Burgers (double hamburgers) in 2 minutes 15 seconds. Gabe Venit was second with a time of 5 minutes and 30 seconds to complete 5 burgers.

I think there were 15 to 20 people in the qualifier.
If the burgers weren’t so darn hot, I may have dropped around 30 seconds from my total.
Call me a minor leaguer all you like… just don’t call me broke.
I’d probably be compEATing alot more often if gas was $1.50 – $2. a gallon, instead of $4.50

Excellent job Joe. You truly are one of the world’s best in 5 minutes or less. Yeah, there may be a few people out there who might be as good, or a bit better, but you are one of the elite, regardless.
I like your comment, about you not being broke. Right now it’s better to be where you are than in the IFOCE, money-wise.
If they keep going at this rate, in 2 years, THEY will be the mom and pop organization, if they continue to exist at all.
