6:50 – His seems to still be cruising around the mid Atlantic on his food tour. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him show up at DC this weekend.

James Webb will probably get an international bye.

PSA for Dom Mandato: give it up, man. You’re not cut out to be an eater. If you’re serious, lose some weight, as the “belt of fat theory” is a real thing.

But really—you got smoked in a Nathan’s qualifier, for 2nd place in your local hot dog eating contest on Father’s Day with a bunch of amateurs, and then failed your 5 lb. nacho challenge. How many more signs do you need to finally admit that comp eating just isn’t for you???

ojrifkin – will corbucci get an automatic in as well or will he have to qualify? he’s clearly around training with pat

It looks like Corbucci i will probably do a qualifier Saturday. If Major League Eating could bother to announce the fields, that question would be answered.

@548 – spot on. While we’re on the topic of PSAs, I have one for Charlie and the Chew Crew. Give it up dude. You have a bad eating disorder. You left eating for that reason, and are now back to binging and purging food again. Except this time you’re using the excuse it’s a hobby. Move on, seek help.

Hopefully some women show out the next few qualifiers and keep cherish “can’t eat a pound” brown out.

5:48 – does he have parkinsons? he seems to be incredibly shaky in all his videos. can’t tell if it’s just nerves or some kind of genuine condition.

This is 548 poster: I noticed he was shaky too. I think it’s just nerves. He’s so excited to be in a contest and nervous at the same time. He doesn’t look comfortable or rhythmic at all, which is why he is getting beat by amateurs. And I’m serious about him losing weight—that would probably help him with capacity, as he has one of those solid beer guts that likely makes not much harder for his stomach to expand around other organs.

All the more reason to give truth to my theory Joey missing Nathan’s last year was a work and his best friend Pat was on it and ended up winning which was the plan all along

@3:23 That’s sad to think about. His heart seems to be in a good place, he just has zero tact or grace while eating. Probably a blessing in disguise that his performance anxiety stunts his ability to eat more. Spares him further health risk from overeating.

Joey and Pat are friends but not best friends. There was never a plan. Joey lost MLE money in the contest and appearance fees. He will now be back earning again.

It would be cool if Nathan’s would invite Kobayashi to eat next year for the 25th anniversary of his 2001 win.
