KFC competitive eaters ad on youtube

The commercial for Kentucky Fried Chicken’s new grilled wings has been uploaded to youtube by foodfan263. Ian Hickman, winner of the 2007 Delaware suicide wings contest, is billed as the 2007 wing eating champion and Lucy Bauer is listed as the 2008 champion, apparently based on this video. 2009 Wing Bowl winner John Squibb’s appearance was cut.

update I have heard the ad was televised during halftime of tonight’s exhibition NFL game on NBC, I am not sure if the entire country received it.

The commercial should feature Joey Wingador and Sonya. The other jiokes were replacements because they settled for peanuts. The Sheas are smart business men and look to get the most bucks for their eaters which is why they wanted no part of this. I doubt this commercial will ever see the light of day on national tv or cable for that matter. Aside from youtube where else has it appeared?

The IFOCE probably wanted to much money NONE of which would have went to the eaters. Except a few hundred dollars, to each eater all the while the sheas are laughing their way to the bank!!!95,000 to the sheas 5,000 split evenly to all their contracted eaters. They suck! There’s no reason other than greed that the ifoce did not win this kfc commercial. They have the best wing eaters.

Highly doubt it aired nationwide. Prob foxsouth or midwest just like the krystals. What a joke Most of the jokes with the exception of wingador were happy with the $200 chump change thrown their way just to get their mugs on tv

Bob Kuhns should have been on there if you wanted the best wing eater in the world.

I have to give credit when it is due. All participants in this did a wonderful job.

Did they give Arnie speech lessons & hide any mind altering substances til after they completed shooting?!

Also, i’m in agreement w/anony 8:13 except for his last line.

To think the Shea’s would ever hold out for more $$$ for anyone but themselves as opposed to the eaters is ridiculous.

Arnie indirectly made more for Booker than the Shea’s have. If he & then me didn’t turn down Wife Swap, (more accurately, our wives) he wouldn’t have gotten that or the $20,000.

For the record, the Hangman was offered a huge a role in this commercial but had to graciously turn it down due to a busy schedule. Imagine the impact when a celebrity of his caliber shows up to nationally promote a product?

Using Chapman is like taking the generic brand, cheap and nameless.

    Hungman OUT!

Joe gives no credit to anyone except himself, ever. Should have just left the first sentence. That would be giving credit. Surprised Joe didn’t force his wife to do Wife Swap. Shades of Chris Eyre.

Unfortunately, I too doubt the commercial will ever make it much farther than the cutting room floor. That’s a shame too.

I thought Koby’s Coors Light commercial, Koby and Sonya’s Mastercard Pay Pass advertisement, and Sonya’s Harris-Teeter feature for paper plates, all from several years ago, were excellent and very entertaining, especially the first two, but they never made it farther than the Internet.

I hope I’m wrong about the KFC piece.

Aren’t you getting sick of picking on the Hangman? Once, maybe twice it was a little funny – now it’s just rude. He may make some misguided comments in the past, but you need to move on. Bruce is a good guy. I’d like to see him, even at age 50+, body slam your ass Hungman

I thought Wingador was opening his own wing restaurant. Isn’t this like Ford doing a commercial for Chevy?

It is cool to see competitive eating in a commercial for a major brand. . .though Lucy Bauer and Chapman seem like funny choices when there is like so many other people that would come to mind as more appropriate with just a simple google search. The problem with the commercial is the editing is done kinda weird. It just flashes text on the screen for a brief moment that says each person won a wing eating contest. I think to the average viewer who doesn’t think much or follow eating contest, it wouldn’t be instantly clear these are competitive eaters, but instead random people in silly outfits talking about wings. The text almost comes up too quick to read or absorb. I think a cut scene of an eating contest or something would have been better to make it more clear who these people actually are and why they’re rambling about wings with crazy hats.
