Furious Pete competed but has not announced his result yet.

It is not an MLE sanctioned event and the eaters are not with MLE so why should this contest have any importance. When will Furious Pete get tired of getting his behind whipped by the great Kobayashi when he could spend more valuable time beating up on Menchetti and Boone

Honestly, Furious Pete is not in his best moments. This month he has consistenly performed sub par. We didn’t see an upset on him, that means he hasn’t lost to any less talented eaters (as there are not any rankings i can’t find a better word to describe them), but his numbers are pretty low for what he can do. Unless he did this on prupose its kind of sad.

Hopefully he will keep on improving from this day on. As for koby, i’d say he did a good job.

BTW i was checking the pics, it looks like they actually had a storm “rushing” the stage. It must have felt really bad, speed eating like that.

Meredith Boxberger? Another possible entrant for Nathan’s woman division next year!

What idiots eat in the rain? Is it worth risking health for a few thousand bucks?

Imagine if Kobi had been in gyozas, that would of been bad ass. I bet Pat and Joey secretly miss competing against him…after all no one on earth has their kind of eating prowlness.

i wish furious pete wouldnt say things like “the reason i’m doing this, is because of you,the fans”. Lets be realistic, its about ONE thing and ONE thing only, THE CASH MONEY. he can care less about the fans.

I can imagine Kobi in gyozas. Japanese-American festival, Japanese food, Japanese sponsor, huge population of Japanese-only speaking audience and media, in Little Tokyo to watch the Japanese Legend. Believe me, it would be insanity if he ever comes back to MLE.

That won’t happen for a very long time Cory if things stay the same between Kobi + The Sheas

I think a better project would be hosting the gyoza contest without MLE OR having Koby do a gyoza clinic a week before or after the contest. The man would kill.

Yeah, I know the situation very well but doesn’t mean I can’t acknowledge how it would blow up if it miraculously resolved. MLE is working very hard for us and puts on a better, more competitive show than the independent shows Kobi is currently doing. Imagine this past field with Joey and Badlands in 2012. Would you rather see that or Kobi vs Furious Pete again?

Day-Lee and Nisei Week have no intention of breaking off from MLE.
