Krystal Square Off III online betting odds
(From Greg Godden:) The online sportsbook bodog.com is taking bets on Saturday’s Krystal Square Off III finals. The top 5 favorites in that contest are:
Takeru Kobayashi 1/1
Joey “Jaws” Chestnut 3/2
Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas 7/3
Chip “The Phenom” Simpson 9/2
Tim “Eater X” Janus 4/1
You can also bet on whether anyone will eat more than 70 burgers and will the entire field eat more than 645 burgers (the sum of everyone’s qualifying totals is 626 burgers)

Don’t get too excited on the “over”. It’s a maximum bet of $50. I’ll bet anyone that the field will easily break 645 Krystal hamburgers. Humble Bob at 9/1 is my favorite bet. Too bad it’s listed under Weird Wagers instead of Sports Wagers.

Jed,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I personally wouldn’t mind putting some cash on Pat. He has some really high odds. I think that over 70 is the easiest money that there ever was.

You guys read my mind; I was going to put in my two votes of confidence for Bob and Pat, too!

Bob only Koby has a chance to break 70. Water-logged Krystals really weigh in on one’s stomach capacity.

These odds are screwy. As good as Bob, Tim, Pat, etc, etc are, their odds could very well be 100 to 1 and it wouldn’t matter, because they wouldn’t win over both Koby in 1000 tries, unless Koby was on his death bed. That’s just reality and anyone honest with himself or herself knows it. A much more competitive, realistic bet would be Bob vs Tim or Rich, where either has a bona fide shot to eat more than the other.

Rhonda,
I’m going to respectfully disagree with you. As great as Koby is, he wont be able to beat Joey if he isnt fully 100%. The days of him being able to compete and win on his ‘death bed’ are over. There are a fistfull of Americans on Joeys back too in the 50+ crowd….even the table enders may all hit 40 in this contest. I agree that Koby’s the favorite, but after the incredible year the Americans have had, you just cant say it’s a lock.
Whats so exciting is that Krystal will pay out to the last spot, so it’s in every eaters interest to beat somebody and not pull a ‘Donahue’
I cant wait…..

What would the odds be of GI Joe showing up and protesting by doing a side by side demo and finishing under 23 burgers? I would put money on the under.

I can’t wait either Steak.I wish that somehow the fistfull of Americans on Joey’s back would each knock his **** in the dirt! It’s my updated opinion that Chestnut is an unappreciative jackass who deserves to win nothing. His recent string of successes has elicited forgetfullness about who paved his road to success.
But (and I say this with a smile), his run of victories over other, more appreciative Americans will soon come to a close.
And Koby remains the Champ until he is overtaken. And it likely won’t be this year — in any food. Kobayashi commands respect. Chestnut deserves little.

Justin and Conti and a couple others will really have to keep that in mind!

I’ve got my expert picks at my MySpace blog. Remember, just like those who cant…teach, Those who can’t each much….pick!!
I like the odds on Humble Bob, but to me the best bet of the year is the “over” on 70 burgers….If I was single, I’d bet all the money I had in the bank on that one!!

I know for a fact that one north east eater who is in the finals just did 75 white castle hamburgers in the store in 7:50. Take the OVER 70 – it is a sure thing.

“updated TheOnlineWire says Dale Boone is the best bet. ”
Yeah, best bet to boot. Or maybe that’s Mih. I bet one of them screws up the 645.
