Krystal Square Off V finals September 28

KrystalSquareOff.com announces that the date for this year’s Krystal Square Off finals will be September 28, a month earlier than previous years. The site will remain the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga. The qualifier schedule will be announced later.

    Really? They announce that on July 4th? I can’t decide if that’s good timing or really dumb. I’m leaning toward dumb.

    I thought about the timing of the announcement too, and I think it mostly because they intend to win the hearts and minds of the CE community and actually get jealous that our attention is elsewhere.

    Even as a table ender they have always made me feel welcome. I cant wait for this event. I’m Qualifying.

    Being most the eaters for this contest have to fly, I appreciate the advanced notice. The sooner we know, the more money we save. Especially at a time where prices are going through the roof. This once again shows their commitment to making us happy.

    Yeah, although I don’t agree with the timing of the announcement (gets lost in the Nathans frenzy and steps on the toes of larger CE news) I do agree with you Steak that the Krystals team is BY FAR the number one sponsor in all of CE and they do put up a smart marketing effort overall.

    Just wanted to share that since a date announcement is not normally big news, and that’s all that was announced, Krystal wasn’t concerned with the message getting lost in the news and actually the complete opposite happened as the news of the date was included in the AP story about Chestnut winning (see below) and featured in its hometown paper. More importantly, as Philly Guy suggests, Krystal wanted everyone to know the date as its much earlier than the past 4 years and we wanted to announce it 90 days out, which happen to be July 4. More Krystal Square Off news to be announced in a few weeks. Stay tuned to KrystalSquareOff.com and Krystalist.com

    And any gastrointestinal woes won’t deter Kobayashi. He says he’ll be back for a rematch next year. Before that, the two will face off again at the Krystal Square Off World Hamburger Eating Championship Sept. 28 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

    The Georgia National Fair in Perry will not be the site this year to a Krystal’s contest since the fair begins in October.

    Pat is actually 3rd in krystals. Bob Shoudt swallows krystals whole,so I’ve been told. Woo HA! HA! Hangman will you be doing Krystals in Jacksonville this year?

    This means the qualifiers will be in aug instead of sept ?
