    Don you really ought to be ashamed of yourself. You besmirched your image in the IFOCE by competing in non sanctioned events like this and latkas. Even though yuo are retired it is like spitting in George Shea face for all he has done for you. Five tv specials, lifetime achievement awards and the countless number of times they paid your airfare and hotel. I hope this stays with you for the rest of your life. You are nothing but SELFISH.

    It appears that US Male and Subich are soon to follow in Lerman’s footsteps as they are both still listed on the Wing Bowl site as performing sunts tomorrow.

    It is possible that the website for wing bowl has not been updated to reflect these two dropping out, OR they might continue with the radio stunt while declining actually competing in the wing bowl.

    personally i would like to win a wingoff or any other kind of qualifier for any sort of eating event. that doesn’t mean that i need to go and embarrass myself in a larger event where i would not likely be competitive. or in the case of the wing bowl, it looks like the atmosphere is a little over the top festive, bordering on the unsafe.

    i don’t think there is anything wrong with them doing the radio stunt, as long as they don’t do the wing bowl.

    Yes. If they were told not to participate, that is it. Oh…..I suppose I should add IMO. Too much speculation here. When US Male or Subich write here what they are or are not going to do, then we will (probably) know answers. MLE doesn’t speak here. They hardly speak at all except privately, eater to eater. If Larell or anyone else wants to know something, if they eat with MLE, contract or not, best to ask them directly. The rest is simply recreational conversation here or on any other website. AND, imo, competitive eating is more interesting with more independent eaters but what someone wrote is probably very true. The person most known in competitive eating is Kobayashi and probably always will be. Except for Joey and Sonya, the rest of the “characters”, no matter what organization, are interchangeable. And no one, absolutely no one, is irreplaceable.
