    OJ,

Just an FYI. I called the restaurant here in Brooklyn you had listed, Chadwicks, to ask about the steak challenge. According to someone claiming to be the owner, they said they had no idea what I was talking about.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/32489086@N08/sets/ MLE has added a flickr page with photos from past and present. Note that the majority of photos consist of Nathans. Rich & Carlene, Kobe, Sonya , Ed Jarvis & Don Lerman. You see more of Jarvis and Lefevre than anyone else. You have to look very close and very hard to find pictures of old school eaters such as butiful brian, krazy kev , Bison, Jim Reeves and Subich. This is not to say that their faces were deliberately omitted from the slideshow but MLE certainly did not go out of their way to find individual action shots of those eaters. You can find the names mentioned in an occasional group photo or maybe they just happened to be in the way . Maybe the IFOCE head honchos were too lazy to crop their images out of the group photo. For someone that has bitched about being shot down and ignored by the IFOCE, Don Lerman appears in a number of photos

The online menu for Chadwick’s has a 48 ounce porterhouse steak, so if it is not available, the restaurant should update that page. I have made a note on the challenge page.

Just because a menu reads “Porterhouse for Two” doesn’t mean it was intended to be a restaurant challenge. It’s pretty standard for restaurants to offer steaks in a variety of sizes and to suggest how many people may want to order it.

    OJ,

They do have the steak, I thought you were listing it like a challenge thing where if you finish it in a certain amount of time you get your name on the wall or whatever.

“the Texas Roadhouse in Chantilly, VA offers a 64 ounce steak that is free if eaten in under one hour (requires one week notice)”

There is also a 64 oz steak challenge in Blacksburg, Va @ Texas Roadhouse. No notice required.

In competition Pete eats using Picnic Style Rules. Picnic Style is normal eating. The person who ate the previous record of 6:00 minutes probably used a utensil like a spoon or fork throughout the whole duration. Pete started using a fork (Picnic Style) and then his right hand (NOT Picnic Style). I have never seen anyone at a picnic eat scoops of ice cream with their hands. Pete halved the record by using a non normal eating style. I can say from previous experience. At a Vancouver (BC) British Show I used the supplied knife and fork for a haggis eating contest. I dropped the utensils and used my hands to shovel the haggis into my mouth to win the contest.
