Lisel Parillon eats 99 tacos in under 36 minutes (in 3 sessions)

(via Stephanie Wu twitter) CityPaper reports that Lisel Parilon, a female student at the the University of Pennsylvania’s dental school, completed the 33 taco challenge in under at all three Drinker’s locations in the Philadelphia on August 20, 23 and 26, beating the 13 minute limit in each attempt. The prize for completing the “Triple Crown” in under a week is free drinks at all Drinker’s locations. On her most recent attempt last Thursday, she completed the challenge in 9 minutes.

Philly.com reports that Ms. Parillon plans to attempt to qualify for Wing Bowl 19 and calls her the first serious female competitor at that event since Sonya Thomas stopped participating in it.

Sonya does not like being upstaged by Miss Cutie . The sad part is that not one female eater has ever come close to Sonya in eating ability. With that said, you can win all the miss america pageants you want because the bottom line is if you cant eat take a back seat

Anony 6:28 a.m.: Sonya just got done eating 53 tacos in 12 minutes for the boys and girls club of Puerto Rico, and before that she ate in the 40’s for the same time period years ago. That’s for sure.

How soon some people forget. We just might have not seen the last of Sonya’s (or other IFOCE members) participating in Wing Bowl, depending on what can be worked out.

Given Jon Squibb’s performance lately there appears to be a local person who give the IFOCE’s best a run for the money, at least on the surface. So perhaps the organizers may go back to opening it up again, without restricting it to locals.

I’d love to see Koby enter.

It is more likely that we see koby at wing bowl than any MLE eaters. The advantage of being an indi eater is the sponsor does not have to deal with the brothers.

Rhonda Evans: 610 WIP has been saying that the pros will be allowed back in this year. Given what Joey did at wing bowl (taunting squibb toward the finish), what koby did at nathans, and Jon Squibb defending his championship, they are really hopeful for an epic battle between all parties this year.

Also like every year they claim this will be the last one ever, hopefully if it is, they end with a bang.

I really wonder if Joey and Koby could have a showdown at Wing Bowl. There’s not much sign they’re going to throw down in an IFOCE contest anytime soon.

IFOCE probably shouldn’t want to risk the face of their organization losing in this type of contest… either to the rebel Kobayashi, or to the independent Jon Squibb. Unless Joey is dynamite in wing-eating, and believes he can really bury the competition…

On the other hand, there’s a lot of incentive for Joey to win this type of event, to prove his dominance beyond the confines of IFOCE sanctioned events (and the IFOCE proves they really have the world’s best eater).

Andrew I hope not and don’t think Wing Bowl will end anytime soon. At first I thought Jon Squibb was just a fly-by-night wing eater, but not now. I give him credit.

Some people think Koby can’t eat wings because of his poor showing in Vegas a few years ago when he put forth an Academy Award-level performance playing the role of an eater with jawthritis. The fact was he didn’t even try—-wasn’t i the script.

However, Koby’s hand speed is second to no other competitive eater, and he complements it with tremendous stomach capacity. His jaw strength, while excellent, is not great.

Joey needs no introduction as the best wing eater on the planet. What Joey lacks in hand speed (he doesn’t lack much), he more than makes up for in jaw strength and stomach capacity. Joey could bite the ass out of a bear!

If those three were to meet at WB, I’d have to give a very, very slight edge to Joey over Koby. Jon would put up extremely good numbers, but he is not quite in Joey’s or Koby’s class.

On a closing note, people aren’t mentioning Sonya Thomas, who can more than hold her own with the big boys. After all, she has a Wing Bowl ring too. Like Juliet said about herself, people should thank their lucky stars that Sonya doesn’t practice.
