Matt Stonie has taken the top spot in the MLE top 50 from Joey Chestnut. The switch appears to be the only change (cached version) ; Geoff Esper and Nela Zisser remain unranked. Joey took the top spot from Takeru Kobayashi on July 12, 2007, giving him a reign of 8 years and 2 days.
A championship parade will be held for Matt Stonie in San Jose on Friday.

How come no parade for Miki in Vegas? It looks like the good people of Vegas get it now and made the connection that she was that criminal that shut down the nation’s airspace system on 9/11 at McCarran airport. Miki got the attention she craved when she and her friends ran under the wire pulling others down to bring Miki up. But now Miki’s won Nathan’s consecutively, and real journalists, morning and late night shows, etc. finally looked into MIki’s background and what surfaced wasn’t pretty. Out of this newly gained scrutiny came a disgusting tale of the real Miki selfishly scaring victims of 9/11 because she was “mad at her boyfirend,” spreading lies about other eaters cheating, and her overall self centeredness. The only parade or proclamations Vegas seems to want to have now for Miki is running her out of town on a rail. So, why are no real respected eaters jumping to Miki’s defense to help out her image. It’s simple, Miki’s shown no respect to others so why defend and help her out? Besides what’s there to defend? Everything written above about Miki is true. If your not getting the attention you feel you derserve MIki then maybe a few public appologies about your behavior towards others would be a good place to start in redeeming your image.

When someone from MLE says we care about you, go tell them to pound sand. Yes, who ever wins Nathan’s gets number-one MLE. Both Joey and Sonya have out eaten Matt and Miki at most contests, yet they lose by three dogs and for MLE it’s don’t let the screen door hit you on the ass. Joey ahould use this slight as a motivator and blessing. If it makes Joey mad, I wouldn’t want to be Matt against Joey in future contests. For years, Jaws’ been coasting. Now he has something to eat for and you don’t want to make a hungry shark mad. After a year of these exhausting events, when Matt starts tripping over his dick in parades thinking he really is number one, kick his ass at Nathan’s. Let Matt go around and do all the bullshit no top eater really likes. When MLE begs Joey to do a dog and pony show in front of City Hall, tell them no and relax at the hotel. Getting up early and talking to the local radio stations, TV, and newspapers — that’s not Joey’s obligation anymore. And, when MLE tells you a sponsor wants you for a crappy event, tell them that’s number one’s problem. Besides, MLE’s ranking really doesn’t mean anything and number one can often be more of curse. As #2 you have no obligation to do anything for MLE ot other eaters for that matter that you don’t want to do.
