It was probably 6 pounds of melted ice cream… which would have made it a drinking contest!

He lost to a girl in oysters thast everybody in the ifoce can beat. A girl!!!!!! How in the world can you even think for an instant that Bert. can win Nathans? Bertoletti will be lucky to win his qualifier. I hope he doesnt have to face Juliet Lee in the qualifier. I guess shed kick his ass to.

Had anyone told me that Erik finished the 6 lbs of ice cream in 72 seconds, prior to knowing the other results, my first reaction would have been, “Wow, congratulations Erik, what an upset!” Pat’s finishing time of 45 seconds is nothing short of incredible. Going into the contest I expected Pat to win, and I expected him to finish the ice cream in about 2-and-a-half minutes—-about what Nathan finished the ice cream in.
That shows how way off I am about being able to predict finish times for some foods, one of which is ice cream. Anyway, congratulations to Pat, Sonya, Erik AND Nathan.
Pat is an absolute speed demon in virtually all foods. When it comes to ice cream, no one in the world can touch him … not even Koby, Joey, or that self-proclaimed 5-minute (or less) master Joe Menchetti.
I’m almost as impressed with Sonya as I am Pat, but for a slightly different reason. Time after time after time she puts up world class numbers without practicing. That’s got to be the best of all worlds. She’s over the big 4-0, age-wise (Yes, Luther and others, I guess that’s senior league material.), and yet, after nearly 7 years of eating competitively, she doesn’t seem to be an ounce larger now than before she started.
She, Juliet, Koby, and Rich LeFevre all seem to be cut from that same mold.

Is there some video of the contest? 24 bowls of ice cream in 46 seconds would be very neat to see.
