A commenter noticed the MLE top 50 has been updated (the top 4 is unchanged. The new top 12:

Just a matter of time till some more amateurs are recruited to the rankings and the bottom few drop out of the top 50. We say goodbye to a legend that never was.

Yes, IMO Matt should be way higher than 30. (As should many others be higher than they are placed) but then again, I don’t necessarily agree the ranking system entirely.

Erik Denmark has not been inactive like Tim Janus, he just keeps beat. Lesco beat him every recent event, that’s why she moved up past him. Pumpkin pie, tamales, gyoza, his chicken wing disaster, ribfest, Other than winning sweet corn (with a weakish field), and a 3rd place chili in March, his year has been poor. Fourth at Nathan’s with 33 is not bad, but the field lacked half the current top 8.
Juliet Lee on the other hand, I’m not sure why she passed him up. Didn’t beat him in gyoza, had a mediocre chili event, only OK recent result is 4th in pork rolls, though 2nd/3rd were people behind her in the rankings.
