MN / NC Man vs. Food episode information
Andrew Zimmern’s blog for MSP Magazine reports that Man vs. Food will be filming in Minneapolis / St. Paul from February 5 to 8. Restaurant locations are not listed, but one of the foods will be a juicy Lucy burger.
A UNC scout.com forum thread has the following information about Raleigh / Durham locations:
I have a friend that is a producer on the show and they are coming to Chapel Hill/Durham for a show. Thus far they have chosen the Roast Grill (hot dogs) and The Pit for barbeque and they are thinking about Mama Dip’s but are worried that the portions are not big enough.
They looked at Sutton’s and Time Out but they were too small and didn’t have large enough portions. THe sad thing about the area is that the food that is true to North Carolina doesn’t usually come in a challenge type of serving.
A twitter update from December says that Man vs. Food will record at the Roast Grill sometime in January.
The Krispy Kreme Challenge appeared to be a possibility for the North Carolina challenge, but Man vs. Food will be in Minnesota on the February 7 race date.

Here we go again Conti Janus with Adam . Slow season but they manage to get media attention as always. It is enough to make you sick to your stomach. I am not watching this show and i urge everyone to avoid watching it . Everytime a celebrity comes to ny those two get their mugs in camera as co stars. Enough of this bullshit . Sheas do this just to irriate everyone else .

I agree but Pat should get the play, and not the other two I got a function on my tivo that omits them from the progam unless all three appear together in a scene. . In that case i’m fucked.

Um, anon 8:51, if you can be as photogenic as they are, as well-versed as they are, as good for marketable as they are, you too can garner the media attention they get. From your comment you come off like an ass so I do not think you will ever be as photogenic, well-versed, or as marketable as Tim and Legs.

I agree with that one. So what if Crazy Legs and Eater X do alot of appearances. You are either a very jealous person and/or an eater who is not good enough to get the TV time they do. Drop the crap and just be happy that competitive eaters are getting any air time during the off season. They are great representatives of the sport I enjoy.

That one and a half you are incorrect . You say they do alot of appearances. It is more like all the appearances. Marketable? I will bet you they get squat for their time and effort. I call them photogenic well versed fools. I should be happy other competitive eaters are getting air time during the off season? If it’s not me why should i care ? You are more of a dope than i expected. You must be one of those that enjoys praising others all your life while you get shit in return. It’s all about number one and don’t you forget it.

It’s not always about number one “that two” but I do not really care who represents competitive eaters. Crazy Legs is a well versed individual and will never embarass the sport. PLUS, they do not care about “getting squat” for their time. Some people take pride in what they do and you, we see, are not that type of person.
You are a jealous, greedy fool. Would I like to be the one doing some TV spots, sure, but I am not an IFOCE eater and have done nothing to warrant national TV time. WHo really cares! Stop the hating and start the healing.

You must be his mom or Rhonda Evans or maybe both. The CAPS on certain words gives you way Rhonda. That’s right work for nothing yor entire life and see where it gets you. Anyone remotely involved with the sport should be concerned about who represents competitive eating in the media, regardless if they understand the benefit to them or not. The best faces put forward in the media help the sport in general. How many times have you heard “…but (she’s/he’s) really (small/trim/cute),” when competitive eating is discussed on the radio or TV? Anything that helps buck the stereotype of a fat slob eating a ton of stuff is positive for CE. Face it, nobody is really that interested in some huge dude eating a lot. Of course they can eat a lot.
It’s too bad “That two” can only be concerned with himself, but since that’s always been his attitude, you gotta give him credit for consistency. And yes, I know….If you have a different opinion than his, you’re a “dope” or worse. I doubt that most eaters have that attitude, though. Most should be smart enough to understand the need for promotion by the most attractive/interesting eaters you can get. In these economic times, I think they should have X, Legs, Sonya, Juliet, Pat, Koby,… whomever, in front a camera as often as possible to attract as many potential sponsors as they can.

No one can promote competitive eating like Beautiful Brian, Cookie Jarvis, and Don Moses Lerman. IFOCE, if you can’t see that, your eyes must be closed. Especially Brian. He has it all. A pretty face, talent, sex appeal, and an ability to capture people’s interest. He should give lessons. But then again, what he has you’re either born with or you’re not.

Attractive? X and Legs are far from attractive. Weird and eccentric is more like it. Same mentality that the munsters used when they called marilyn the ugly one of the family. BTW cut the fake name and the excuse that you are some newbie. I don’t buy it. You are someone that has been involved in the sport for quite some time. Your assumption that the same eaters need to be promoted is the very reason why the sport will fall flat on it’s face . If there is not one person ready to come to my defense not a problem. I will debate this issue all night regardless of the number of narrow minded ass lickers that disagree with the truth .

anonymous 4:54 it is obvious that the remark about Brian is your attempt at sarcasm . We all know tht Brian is not sexy and does not have a pretty face any longer . Brian as well as the other names mentioned are old farts in the sport but still very much entertaining and sorely still needed in the IFOCE. Lerman and Jarvis were far superior eaters than Brian was, but all three brought something special to the which was wit humor and persona. If i was running the IFOCE i would insist that the three names you mentioned appeared and featured on the food network or travel channel at least 3 times per year. What they are doing with Crazy Legs and Janus does not make good business sense at all. It just divides them from everyone else in the IFOCE because they are percieved as the teachers pets If you remember growing up attending elementary school the teacher would grant all privileges to one favorite student. This class pet would get the lead part in the school play, recieve the citizenship and attendence award while gracing the front seat of the classroom. True it enhanced their popularity but at the same time alienated them from the other students. Sheas can be considered guilty of doing the same exact thing. You might not see it now but as years go by you and everyone else will learn to appreciate the three names you sarcastically mocked as the media giants of the sport.
