Results from the National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship at the Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square today:

1) Molly Schuyler 11 pounds
2) Dave Brunelli 5.5
3) Kevin Ambs 4.5

Male amateur winner Teddy Delacruz – 4 pounds (won Eat Off)
Female Amateur winner Janet Dietz – 1.5 pounds

    4 pounds plus 1 in an eat off is amazing for an amatuer. Great performance by Molly as always.

    Why did Teddy go in the amateur division, but Michael Dietz (who is much worse that Teddy–no offense Michael) go in the pro division?

    The Mushroom Festival National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship will award $400.00 in prize money specifically to Male and Female Amateur Eaters (an Amateur Eater is defined as anyone who has eaten in 2 or less sanctioned Eating Championships).

    All-pro classifies a pro as having more than 2 ALL-PRO events under their belt. Male had the option and for a goof went amateur knowing he was in no eating condition to compEAT with the others right now. Was a good attempt and still ate more then you thought he would.

    Competitive eaters are a multi-talented bunch. Examples of other fields they succeed in are running, poker, black jack, politics, journalism, body building, cooking, modeling, academics, etc. I am probably forgetting a whole lot.

    Not defending Michael Deitz but he did get 4 pounds if all the numbers were on there you would know Moe wasn’t feeling well either and he got 3 1/2 pounds

    There was a time when Seiken was really into comp eating Website the blog the internet show. Most of his life was based on making the sport grow. Even though his stats were miserable to say the least , he received shit in return from the Shea brothers who constantly favored Conti and others for media events. They even went out of their way to waitlist him for IFOCE majors such as Thanksgiving event at Foxwoods . Does not take a rocket scientist to realize he was blackballed in the organization after 2004 . Maybe if they showed a little love with the media and stop dumping him in the rankings , he might have a renewed interest in the sport. He dumped his 12 yr website so what does that tell you?

    MLE keeps their favorite eaters ranked without dropping them in the rankings even though they rarely compete. Tim Janus is one of them. I believe this is due in part in the hope of keeping them happy so they won’t decide to leave

    11:35: MLE is under a contractual obligation to give all signers a ranking. When Tim’s contract expires, if he doesn’t renew shortly thereafter, he will be dropped.

    Hey 11:00; funny that it took the loser 12 years to dump the website that nobody cares about yet he is stupid enough to affiliate himself with an organization that has shunned him since 2004. Talk about desperate to feel the need to belong. Most intelligent people would get the hint and go away. Now that same person, who badmouths eatfeats and other eaters for their need for attention , comes on here to bring attention to himself with unsolicited gambling posts. Some people never get it.
