Molly Schuyler appeared on Omaha Morning Blend today. Near the end of the interview, she mentions that a facebook fan page has been started which can be found at facebook.com/MollySchuylerOmaha. On the page, there are several videos I had not seen previously including an 8 pound burrito video and a 12 pound tenderloin challenge.

Molly has had 1000 times the media coverage and fame than she would have if she signed that stupid I own you contract. Freedom to some is worth more than money and espn. Right now the independent eater are deep. Someone should raise the stakes and start a legit rival league. Now is the time!

If MLE let their competitors compete freely against this sort, everyone would see that they’re overrated and nothing special.

@ 3:59. Just remember that MLE eaters were dominant amateur eaters before ever signing with MLE.. What the better independent eater are doing is what most decent eaters in MLE have already done or can do if they were allowed to compete in the non mle circuit

You have to count Colin Shirlow as an independent who is outperforming MLE

I agree. There are 7 better femal eaters to talk about. If Molly wants to do the contests the way everyone else did I’d consider her, but try slowing yourself down with utensils or something else.then talk to us.

It doesn’t make sense why any talented eater interested in competing would want to be in any other organization other than MLE. Sure in other organizations you can compete in little rinky dink local events and one of the 8 or 9 yearly events they manage to put together with small prize purses but is it worth it? MLE has 70 or so events a year with good prize money. Many seem to think you can’t do open restaurant challenges as well in MLE with isn’t necessarily the case if you read the contract wording. The only reason I could see is Molly, Jamie or whoever in other bush leagues recognizes that they wouldn’t do as well against top competition.

For 2013, I have 34 MLE non-qualifiers and 18 qualifiers listed

Ok, so I hyperbole a bit. But 54 total events with 18 of them being qualifiers is still quite a bit more than anyone else. I’d like to see a 2013 compilation of the total possible MLE events plus total possible prize money compared to that of APE or anyone else.
