Shoudt is the biggest bullshit artist. He kept telling everyone he was doing Nathans but all that time he planned on dumping MLE and doing indy contests Who would think of all things he would come along to revive a dying organization like APE

This puts an exclamation point on the declaration that Molly is the best female eater in the world. She is right up there with Matt, Kobi, and Joey, and she could be better than all three.

Bob didn’t dump MLE. MLE only cares about Matt and Joey. Independent is a better way to go (nobody owns you). You can knock APE all you want but more eaters will jump over to stay active. Everyone starts throwing stones at each other. The money is larger in the MLE but APE is still around and it seems like more eaters will probably jump over cause there isn’t any contract. All you see is Matt and Joey winning in the MLE and they will only go head to head 5 or 6 times this year to keep Nathans from dying.. The only contests that they don’t win are the ones they don’t compete in. It’s a waste of money for the other eaters to go.
Instead of pointing fingers at the eaters maybe the root of the problem is the men who run MLE and APE.

@FBTS, I would love to know what the pluses are. I think “has its pluses and minuses” is a just a platitude.

Well Anonymous @11:54, I can understand the skepticism considering our limited APE coverage on the show. I am trying my best to give more exposure to other sides of the sport. Getting to go to this contest was a great way to get that rolling.

I don’t want to lay out all of my cards prior to the show recording, but one of the biggest pluses I saw was the use of picnic rules. Whether you prefer these rules or not is a matter of opinion and preference. However, I do appreciate that APE is doing something DIFFERENT in the world of competitive eating. It gives fans a reason to check out and enjoy both organizations.

In my opinion, APE is better served by being an alternative and growing their own niche.

It is like amateur versus professional boxing. Both are in the same realm, but unique.
    Most importantly, both are enjoyable.

FBTS how dare you show any sort of alliance with a rival organization of MLE. ? If you want your show to succeed in the future no double dipping and no giving the other side a fair shake. If this kind of behavior continues i will tune out instead of tuning in Despicable i say

@FBTS, so you’re saying you prefer Picnic Rules. I’m not sure how you concluded this at a bratwurst contest. Dunking a bratwurst is pointless. No one dunks brats at the MLE contests either. There isn’t a rule that you can’t, but nobody does. At a bratwurst contest, regardless of the league, all eaters eat picnic style.

You also can’t double up or start another brat until it’s in your mouth.

Anonymous @1:36, I am not saying I do or do not prefer Picnic Rules. However, I am saying that I appreciate that it is different than what one would see in MLE. For example, a hot dog contest with the same eaters in each organization would play out completely differently.

I agree – Brats are not the best contest to show the effect of picnic rules. But as 3:40pm points, it still has its influence.
