What a pack of lies. Maybe the eaters will expose it in the media for what it is.

They should tie the donation to the amount of hot dogs eaten by the competitors. For example, they’ll donate 200 hot dogs for every dog eaten during the contest. That means Joey would have donated 13,200 hot dogs in 2007 and the entire field (546.5 HDBs) would have donated 109,300 dogs.

This is one thing that Nathan’s definitely gets right. Making charitable donations to support hunger relief is the biggest and best defense we have against people who claim that competitive eating denigrates worldwide hunger issues. This makes me proud.

But the eaters that are supposed to get a year’s worth of hot dogs for winning a Nathan’s qualifier this year are supposedly getting a small percentage of what they received last year.

Smaller percentage? Some don’t get any at all . Several eaters are still waiting for their year supply from 2003.
