    She was beat by at least two men over the weekend… Time to change that nickname there Grace… maybe another Hall and Oates song that more suits you like “Out of touch”…..

    Rhonda, frankly I’m surprised Grace Lee is even participating. I mean, as a Sonya fan, she has to be whistling past the graveyard knowing that Sonya can eat 13 dogs as a snack. So therefore, she seems like a bright gal, so I don’t know what she will be getting out of this. Exposure is exposure, but she could potentially look pretty bad on the big stage at Coney. And, I wonder if she’s going to work out some arrangement with MLE, that after she gets her you-know-what handed to her she can go back and do her thing of promoting local GA eateries. Do you think she actually understands just how much better Sonya and Juliet are at these type of contests, or has she taken the Bickel koolaid and think she actually can compete on their level? It’s kind of confusing, but I would love to hear your opinion.

    It wouldn’t seem to me that Ms. Lee has any asperation to be a pro eater. Just the experiance of going to coney and using whatever “mileage” she can get from the trip. It’s like beating mle at its own game. could be a shrewd move on her part.

    Grace is probably in contention for at least the 5th place prize money. Her total was just a half hot dog less than Larell Marie’s 2011 qualifier performance of 13.

    OJ, yeah I thought about the prize money as a reason to compete, and of course the exposure — even when she gets beat. As the Beautiful one often shows, attention is attention, even if its controversial they’re still talking about you. Yet, G. Lee’s bread and butter is local gigs promoting Atlanta eateries through her “contests.” If she compete’s at Nathan’s, MLE is going to have a real problem with her doing a Varsity hot dog event in Atlanta for example and would put the kybosh on it. So I’m wondering if she knows she’s just going to violate the contract as soon as she takes her 5th or 4th place prize money and goes back to GA. She’ll just continue to bogusly claim that she’s an undefeated eater, and let the lawyers will figure it out between her and MLE when she goes back to doing GSpot sponsored and promoted events. I don’t know, but it’s an interesting side story.

    It is kind of interesting, promoting other eateries in Atlanta is her main job, and how can MLE tell her to leave her real job/livelihood to be a MLE eater… Doesn’t Sonya work for Burger King (wouldn’t that conflict with the Krystal’s people) and doesn’t X work for a pizzeria (Upper crust)?

    I don’t think the rules really apply here tbh… but like J. Joe said, I don’t think Grace is really inspiring to be a real MLE’er, I think she just saw an opportunity to put Coney on her resume and she took it. She comes off very self centered, much like Scott Bickel did, I hope she leaves that attitude in Atlanta, because it won’t be welcomed very warmly in NY.

    Grace is a very nice lady. You think maybe she seemed a little distant is because she doesnt know any of the eaters and if she happened to visit this site there was a lot of shit talking about her. She stepped up and did what she had to do. She will tell you in person she is not a speed eater but a volume gal. Great job Grace

    Nun, I wasn’t totally talking G. Lee down, she is no doubt a smart gal. My point is that I don’t know if she realizes that her livelihood could be in jeopardy when she signs a contract. And, the whole situation could be a real headache in the future for MLE. But, it is somewhat Bickelistic of her claiming that she’s a top eater. Speed or no speed eater, 13 dogs doesn’t quite fit with that moniker. Because it does appear like she is trying to cash in on other people’s talents with her persistent focus on how small she is, cute asian gal, beating the men, etc. On top of that, G. Lee gives not even a passing recognition to the eaters like Juliet and Sonya who opened the door for her being able to turn her limited eating talents into a business oportunity for her. Yes, it will be interesting to see how she interacts act Coney with Juliet and Sonya. Butl, I suspect she’ll somewhat avoid them. Kind of like meeting the inventors of a product that you’re trying to get the patent on.

    I have only meet Grace one time but I have a long time friend that knows her. I have not heard a bad thing about her except she can not eat 30 HDB. Now that stated, I think she will do this event and then be done with MLE, unless they have a womens division for other events. Do you really think she knows the history of CE? I doubt it. She knows who a few people are I am sure but she is a short timer. I wish her all the best and hope she has a blast in NYC. Maybe we should all focus our hate on someone that deserves it…… like Wing Kong or Barlow. Send them dead kittens in the mail or slash their tires. You do not want to mail live kittens because they make noise.
