    If the ranking system were unbiased, Bob’s quotes should have no effect on the rankings. However, I can certainly understand if it does, as the IFOCE will feel a need to protect its interests.

    Smart people oftentimes say things without thinking through on ramifications of their comments. It’s easy to see Bob’s disenchantment with the goings on in MLE.

    I’d say that given Bob’s tenure in MLE, he probably doesn’t care what anyone thinks—-neither fellow eaters, nor the powers that be. Bob is a very nice, respectable person, but even nice guys get tired of perceived inconsistencies in judging, fairness, and lack of enforcement of “rules.”

    This Jamie McDonald speculation is really getting annoying. If he was a top eater he’d join the MLE. Since he didn’t join MLE it shows he himself knows he can’t eat against the best eaters. He feels it’s more lucrative for him and his buddies to just claim he’s a top eater and hopefully reporters and fact checkers won’t check his record at MLE contests. McDonald, using Kobayashi’s model, saw the light knowing they can’t beat the top MLE eaters consistently. So, they’re satisfied with just beating up on lame independent eaters. McDonald loses when he ate against top MLE eaters. If he couldn’t beat Juliet Lee, he’s not going to consistently beat Joey Chestnut, Pat Bertoletti, Tim Janus, Sonya Thomas, Bob Shoudt, and now Matt Stonie. But for you speculators out there, MLE bases its top ratings primarily on Nathan’s performances and McDonald can’t eat 40 putting him out of the top five. If McDonald could eat over 40 Nathan’s, he would, but he knows he can’t. Therefore, McDonald’s happy making money as an independent where dumbasses like $$$ think he’s something special when he’s rather mediocre from a top MLE standpoint. Like all the independents, being a top APE joke or Boone League idiot, is better than being a MLE mid eater.

    39 isn’t 40 and definitely not Nathan’s hot dogs. And, McDonald lost to too many MLE eaters and split wins with a barely top ten MLE eater. As OJ pointed out, McDonald has a 64 percent winning record with the MLE, which is respectable but not top five. So, stop dissing top MLE eaters with idiotic, baseless speculations postings about how McDonald is better or even comparable to them. Restrictions? Yeah right. For McDonald it’s all about the money and in his case vanity. No one has a problem with making more cash by beating less than top MLE qualified eaters. MLE restrictions is an old Kobayashi excuse that’s been proven wrong when Kobayashi signed a Hofmann contract with restrictions. McDonald’s just not good enough, and because he eats at lame events, not recognizable enough where any company would offer him a contract. If a company was lame enough as Hofmann’s to offer McDonald a lucrative contract with restrictions he’d sign it in a heartbeat. And vanity wise, he actually believes he’s such a major draw that his name alone would attract people to a fundraiser to raise money for victims of a tragedy. Kobayashi, or a top MLE eater should of shown up to that event just to knock McDonald and his buddies unrealistic egos down a peg.

    I think Jamie is happy right where he’s at. He’s making money, and he has autonomy to eat where he wants, when he wants, without big brother’s approval.

    He has the best of all worlds. He doesn’t need a ranking to signify his prowess as a competitive eater. His accomplishments speak for themselves.

    From what i was told Seiken originally suggested to US Male to do the swingbelly challenge so he could videotape it but instead he went down with Shredder. For the record this is not Seiken. I doubt Seiken would want to be in the same room with Shredder. Good riddance MLE can live without him for sure
