New Poll: how to improve judging

The new poll lists several changes in the way contests could be judged and asks which one you would most like to see implemented.

    This is somewhat unrealted, but I’m the best eater in Texas and I didn’t freakin’ get picked for the Reliant Rib Eating contest cuz it’s a random drawing. I understand they want to give anyone a chance to win, but it pisses me off when there’s a contest in the state I own and I can’t even be in invited.

    i for one think 2 of these options should be implemented:

    Switch all contests to weight based judging
    Have officials whose sole purpose is to check for violations

    the first totally makes it fair because units of foods can be different weights and the second levels the field so all eaters are watched

    Thanks anon – I was being somewhat facetious, but I would love anything that brings more contests down here. Flying is expensive. I would take an open head-to-head invitation if anyone is in the area, though.

    The judging has stunk for years. For the eaters that are usually out of the money the judges think they are doing them a big favor by allowing them to bring their plates to the scale after the contest is over. The judges or whoever is in charge of the scale should bring up each contestants plate to the scale themselves and weigh it. for us. It is also quiet amazing that some real good eaters get some real bad readings from these scales when they know inside they ate much more than what the scales are reporting . This brings us to the fact that these trays are not evenly distributed and the top ten eaters are assigned marked trays with less amounts of food than the lesser known or mid to low ranked eaters .Unless eatch tray is weighed in front of the contestants before the contest starts, there will always be speculation that this whole thing is bullshit

    Yeesh; a little paranoid there anonymous? Marked trays? Haha. Ever stop to think that maybe the top eaters eat more because they are better? Sure there could be some unintentional errors, but nobody is conspiring against anyone on purpose. Get real!

    Actually; I already have signed their contract. . .but I really can’t understand how it’s considered ass kissing to say that these paranoid conspiracy theories are untrue. . .I don’t think anybody in their right mind would actually believe they are intentionally giving us different amounts of food and saying they weigh the same. That’s just ridiculous. Next you’ll say this goes all the way to the top levels of our government, even the president himself, who helps create “super scales” in area 51 that can detect which eater’s plate is being weighed and fix the contest accordingly.

    There could be small amounts of unintentional human error and the actual contestants could try to cheat if they aren’t watched close enough. Those things are possible. But if you think IFOCE is purposefully cheating certain people, I think you need to get your head checked.
