Well Morgan is the likely choice since he has the wild card off the bat.

Studying the other hopefuls personal best hot dog numbers from years past:

    Brian Dudzinski : 21 HDB’s
Aaron Osthoff : Has not competed in hot dogs, I predict 25 HDB’s
    Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston : 21 HDB’s
    Dave Solomon: 15 HDB’s
Matt Stonie: 13 HDB’s in a non nathans 10 min contest
Ben Taylor Has not competed in hot dogs, I predict 20 HDB’s
Scott Bickel: No chance in hell

Non of these guys will win their respective qualifiers so we already have the answer as to who will most likely compete in the nathans finals.

Hmmm…. what about a man who’s SOMEHOW escaped everyone’s atttention. Damon Wells…. he did 22 hdbs last year. If he improves as much as Adrian Morgan has this year, he could put up 25-26 hdbs and that gives “The Omen” a great shot at picking up the win at Hawthorne. His competition there is mostly untested. At the very least you must include him as a candidate!

Hey Anon Fan, you by chance see the video where Matt ate the 13 dogs?
If you think that # is a good judgement of how The Megatoad’s gonna do at his Nathan’s qualifer, i’ll bet you $5000 your wrong

BTW, my prediction is that we will see Matt Stonie & Adrian Morgan at Coney Island this year, question is which of (if any) them will be qualifing vs wild carding it.

Monson might have retired from the IFOCE. He hasn’t done a contest since August.

My original thoughts are for Adrian Morgan, the guy trains hard, puts up good numbers and already has already set a good number as far as a wild card is concerned. Not to mention he’s one of the coolest guys I’ve met on the circuit.

Matt Stonie is really untested in HDB’s, the talent is there, no disputing that but he’s gone on record here on eatfeats say that hot dogs aren’t his strong suit.

The person I’m most intrigued by and seems to fly under the radar (but at least got a mention… thanks OJ) is the A-train Osthoff. He’s yet to do HDB’s but has impressed in all his other events. He’s even nudged Morgan out in a couple events.

Bickel – until he shows me something I’m not a fan
Dudzinski – 20 and 21 HDB’s last year is a great stating foundation.
Livingston – Seems as though he has the talent, but has his work cut out
    Solomon – who knows
Taylor – He’s a good eater but didn’t compete last year in Nathan’s so hard to say

Thanks for the shout out “Try Harder”, despite the fact that I haven’t competed since last June in the Escondido qualifier, I’ve been prepping hard for Nathan’s this year. After Escondido I kind of re-evaluated things, how to approach and train for contests, what it’s worth to me, not to mention I was eager to shed the weight I had packed on from the approach I took my first year. How my new training methods will translate at the table, I’ll have to wait and see. No matter what though I’ll have fun and like the competition and challenge.

As for Monson, the guy is as mysterious as his freakish genetics. One month we’re best of friends and then for three months he hibernates from the world… The guy loves to eat though and if I don’t hear from him before then, I really wouldn’t be surprised if he just happens to show up in Hawthorn.

it doesn’t matter who’s in it, Joey will just beat the shit out of everyone, since Kobi left he has zero competition at Nathans.

What about Pat Philbin, Allen Goldstein? They haven’t competed since last year yet i bet they aren’t retired. Don’t count someone out until you officially have word they retired or get kicked out of MLE. I still got faith in Monson.

The poll says “for the first time…….” I know Goldstein has made it to the finals before, how about Philbin?
