New Poll: Rank IFOCE #3 – #5
Assuming that Kobayashi is now #1 and Joey Chestnut is now the clearcut #2, how would you rank the 3 eaters who ate 33 or more hot dogs in Nathan’s qualifiers?

Sonya has beaten both Bertolletti and Simpson MULTIPLE times and is a virtual lock to win any contest she enters (as long as Koby and Joey aren’t competing). Pat’s only win over her came in corned beef (11 pounds to her 10.75) and Chip tied her in Buffalo wings last November (she has trouble with wings ..Badlands beat her one month prior and she lost Wing Bowl in OT.)
She’s routinely POUNDED Pat and Chip in all other contests in which they faced each other, so I think any talk of her being ranked less than 3 is foolish. The real question becomes, who’s 4 and 5?

MM I wholeheartedly agree with you, but I have little faith any more in the IFOCE’s ranking system. They rank according to who they believe can earn THEM the most money. Talent is factored in, of course, but only after the first requirement is examined. They are targeting a young male demographic, 18 – 35, or so.
I also feel very, very sorry for The Locust, because they could have used Rich properly and marketed his talent much more than they did using longer contests. Like I said before, I would put Rich and Sonya up against ANY THREE eaters in the US in a contest of an hour or more whereby the food is weighed. As far as I’m concerned those two eaters are 1-2.
And they’re little people, as with Koby and Tim Janus, who can’t just open mouth, drop in food, let fall to stomach, like many others. That’s why Koby is such a force. He puts the sport in competitive eating with technique, as do Rich, Sonya, and Tim. I hope Koby stays in the US for the remainder of the year, so that the rest of the eaters can truly learn and appreciate!

It is clearcut who the top 10 should (will) be (everyone else is 100% wasting their time):
Takeru
Sonya
Joey
Pat B
Chip
Tim
Eric
Crazy Legs
Seaver
Pat from Moonachie

What about Bob? Humble Bob? Badlands has some left in him too.

There is no way Seaver and Crazy Legs should be in the top 10. Joey behind Sonya are you serious? Did you see the Nathan’s finals? Humble Bob regularly beats Janus anymore so he should deffinately be in front of him. Pat from Moonachie is a good #11. Then you have to have Badlands and The Locust. Pretty much all the people that hit 30 hot dogs are the ones that deserve to be in the top 10 because that skill transfers into other skill.

i agree . Also the Nathans finals should be Chestnut and Kobe and maybe a third finalist like Sonya or someone that has the capabability of cracking 40. Who gives a crap about the others let them stay home and battle it out to see who eats 21 or 22

Some of these ifoce members not all , have no friends and no social life other than competitive eating which is pretty sad. They need a place to belong to due to peer pressure or rejection in the real world
