    Good thing you excluded Koby. Given his absence it’s a tight race between Joe and Goose. Jon’s more of a one-trick pony, though he does that one trick better better than anyone.

    I gotta say I think Squibb would be it. I’ve seen a couple other videos of him, and it’s pretty impressive. I would like to see some more from this guy.

    THIS is interesting… I was just reading these posts thinking they’re lame the last few days. I like this. You have my attention.

    Non-IFOCE in US is a good poll. I’m thinking Jon Squibb here. The other guys may have more diversity than he does, but he’s far from a one trick pony. I have to agree with Blizzz here. I’ve seen a lot of video from him & I’d would be interested to see more from him too.

    I wouldn’t have counted Koby anyway. No matter where he lives now he isn’t an American eater. Neither is Pete.

    Good work OJ. I think this was a good one.

    Perhaps if I saw him eat other foods I would place him at the top.

    My question then is if he’s that good at other foods, where’s the news, money, publicity, records?

    I’ve seen a lot of big eaters in my day. Super Squibb is probably the best. He’s got great jaw strength, an unbelievable capacity, and he eats like a warrior. GJoe and Goose are admirable opponents, but in the end Super Squibb takes the win. Let’s put the cards on the table and say it- I’m not sure who most of the others are. GJoe, Goose, and Excel, but that’s it.

    I think it’s safe to say that Koby doesn’t count & he was once a signed pro. In all honesty, I would not count US Male either. I’m sorry, but while he is a good eater he has only been Non-IFOCE for about… a month or so now? Gentleman Joe is a good choice as far as diversity is concerned, but I am going to have to follow the flow here & also say Super Squibb. He has multiple videos & pictures showing he is (for lack of better wording Rhonda, no offense) no “one trick pony”. I agree that he is the best wing eating “pony” around as well. However, you have to take into consideration that he does do pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks, apparently meat patties (I didn’t know about that one), omlettes, steak dinners, … I’m far from an expert on him, but from the looks of these comments & the videos on his fan page he is the people’s choice. Congrats Super Squibb you have my vote too! 🙂 Good luck!!

    to me, the top non-IFOCE competitive eater in the United States would have to be GOOSE. He recently beat Pete and is one hell of an eater. GJoe is a good eater as well, but i would have to give it up to goose. Squibb is really known just for wingbowl and has been beaten a few times in other foods including burgers.

    Money earned is perhaps the best indicator of talent. Jon mopped up in WB, but what has he won competing in other events?

    He barely eked out a victory over a one trick pony in WB, who was no where near the top ten when ranked in MLE.

    I’m trying my best to imagine Jon winning money at other events. I’m having a tough time, guys!

    Nope … I stand by my guns. Until I see it for myself, I think Gilbert would cook Jon’s Goose in most events and Joe and would prove to be even more ungentlemanly at the table.

    Fridge I don’t know what DAY you’re talking about, but stick Jon next to Koby and you’ll see what a great eater is about.

    Jon’s a very good eater, but the word great should be metered out sparingly. I’ve seen only three great ones.

    Let’s have a poll for the most meaningless poll ever. I submit:

    So now we are going to find out how many family members and friends of mediocre eating competitors think is the best mediocre eating competitor? Well I guess they still do the NIT tournament in college basketball so mediocrity has its place. I just find it inane that people would want to know who people think is the best at not being as good as IFOCE eaters. Throwing out Kobayashi makes this even more laughable. At least when Kobi competed in the IFOCE he had some competition. But everyone knows that any one of these guys couldn’t hold Kobi’s napkin so let’s just forget about him — what a joke. I’d be embarrassed to be even mentioned in this poll.

    Well, Rhonda- since I’m probably older than most of you here- I’ve seen a lot of eating. While Kobi is amazing, he isn’t American. He was a pro. That is the point. That was what the poll said. Non-IFOCE. Not used to be, but quit. No used to be, but protests. No from another country, but has a place here. When it said Non- IFOCE I assumed they meant never. That’d be the real test of the poll.

    My votes would need to be split in gender-fashion: Matt Stonie and Stephanie Torres. This is incredibly controversial, obviously, because they lack the experience that guys like Tom Gilbert and Gentleman Joe have. But I believe that some of their recent experiences are only a sign of MUCH bigger things to come.

    I haven’t read a lot about Gilbert lately, but for what i’ve seen of him i think he is the greatest non-IFOCE eater in the US.

    I’ve seen videos of Squibb eating other foods, and they didn’t shock me at all – i wonder if i missed any? -, he is good indeed but (overall) he is not great. That’s just my opinion.

    You have to go with Joe Menchetti. He competes in in contests with different foods. Also, he usually competes in contests that are as long as 10 to 12 minutes as well as shorter contests. With all due respect to the other eaters, they don’t compete in as many contests as Joe; nor do they diversify their eating contests in food groups like Joe.

    Gilbert is not the the same eater he was three years ago and Menchetti has beaten Pete since the most recent Menchetti-Gilbert match up. How many times have Squibb or Gilbert beaten Furious Pete? The answer is they haven’t so Menchetti gets my vote.

    Goose #1,GJoe #2,and Sadly, Boone #3. Furious Pete of course is better than them all, but this is U.S. only picks. Squibb does not compete enough to be considered in the top 3.Hes a great wing eater but thats about it.

    all the criticism from the unified poll regarding regarding the open ballot, and now people are just telling us who they voted for in this poll. just a little strange that is all. i went with Stonie, only cause of the tremendous upside, at worst he is just a little bit behind squibb and goose. but we can not really know for sure as stonie is kinda a big fish in a small pound in his contests, where goose and squibb have gone against a different class more consistently. the kid is likely to improve in my opinion.

    You are correct Ray.

    Cutter, no doubt Matt is a talented up-and-coming eater. But your “at worst” observation is a bit skewed, at least as far as Goose is concerned.

    I couldn’t expect Stonie to push Joe or Goose at this point in his career, but perhaps with more experience he may begin to approach those levels.

    Also A-2:07 has a point. GJoe was the only eater to top F. Pete before Koby got a hold of him. Joe was also # 6 in the IFOCE before he parted company with the Fed, and the man is as good as or better than he ever was. Ask Furious Pete.

    (After this I’m certain some people will believe that Rhonda and GJoe are one and the same.)

    i ll give it to her she can go the distance, but shes no speed queen. As for stonie hes not as good as everyone says he is. He got lucky in a contest against goose. I mean really lobster rolls really??? TRy going against goose in hotdogs and he would destroy him. Youtube has helped his fame and its putting way too much spotlight on him as a competitive speed eater

    My vote is still for Tom ATM, however Matt and Stephanie are close second, and they seem to have room for improvement so maybe in 2012 i’d have to vote for them. I see more potencial in Stephanie than Matt tough, but i don’t want to come to conclusions just yet.

    Do u ppl even kno what ur talkin about? Squibb has only lost 1 challenge The other challenges he did do and lost he were on teams Ppl can’t get punished 4 guys who don’t pull their weight He pulls his load and then some GJoe is good, but he has off days So does Pete So does/will Kobi
