Hopefully Molly Schuyler won’t be getting a free trip to New York. She showed up to Minneapolis to be with friends, was allowed to eat at Nathan’s, did okay (even though everyone thought she could eat more), then just days later bad mouths the sponsor. I’d rather see someone at Coney who really wants to be there who demonstrates a long-term commitment to the success of competitive eating and fellow eaters who benefit from sponsor participation. Someone like Schuyler is self admitedly only out for herself, do her own thing, damn the sponsors and other eaters. Real competitive eaters recognize a symbiotic realtionship between sponsor and eaters. So, if an eater doesn’t have anything nice to say about a sponsor, say nothing. She chose, went out of her way, to crap on the one sponsor that gave her, allowed her the opportunity to be on, the biggest stage she’s ever eaten at and the most coverage. Schuyler like Kobayashi are only out for themselves.

Everyone on this earth is only out for themselves. If you disagree then I would have to say you are a liar. Save me the act pal you are a moronic moron who should give a hobo a single penny just to prove me wrong. The dogs at nearly all contests are gross tasting stale and cold. You would think they could at least serve a warm product with fresh bread. How many hundreds of millions of dollars is the company worth, you would think they could at least get that part right. To each his or her own. I happen to like people who make their own rules and don’t follow like your clown ass good riddance.

Molly entry into Nathans is likened to being a guest at a wedding and at the insistence of the bride, being asked to get up and sing or play the harmonica or saxaphone when she really doesnt want to. Obviously at the urging of Miki or one of her other friends, she decided to make them happy and compete. I dont think she has any interest in signing with MLE now or in the future

Bride and guest? If you think for a second that Miki convinced Molly to do (or not do) anything, you’re out of your mind.

Molly, in many occasions has basically said her family is more important than contests. She seems like a genuine person who is just trying to please everybody and coming up short. Signing with MLE would probably be more of a problem and burden to her than doing her own thing. Just because she doesn’t want to be “a part of the crowd” or be pushed into something she doesn’t feel comfortable with people are attacking her. Her priorities are not to eat with organizations the are not willing to work with the individual. She may as well quit if she signed with MLE. How could she afford to do that with her responsibilities? Good for her.

@good riddane “Real competitive eaters recognize a symbiotic realtionship between sponsor and eaters” So tell me are you a REAL COMPETITIVE EATER WHY DONT YOU USE YOUR REAL NAME your a joke with your statement! Ok how about MLE recognize the fact that some people such as Molly cant be confined to a contract when you have 4 kids to raise and an army husband. MLE is not paying for her to go to every contest they are only paying for 1 which would be nathans. There are no real contest around where Molly lives and she needs a baby sitter. So baby sitter fees and travel fees alone would total more than she could make in a contest unless shes maybe top 3 everytime. Molly is a person who understands that family comes first. Your just an internet loser know it all.

Contract THIS, kids THAT…. Question is, why did you do the qualifier if you hate MLE so much and didn’t want to sign? If family values are the excuse, did you just realize you had a family?? Hmm hmmmmm?

@oh please: maybe she likes to compete and have fun with her friends. Is that wrong? When you sign up to do Nathans qualifier, there is no obligation that you have to sign with MLE or else don’t bother coming, hence why they allow people from the public to join the stage with the recognized pros from MLE. Molly would not benefit from signing with MLE in the long run like mentioned before in previous comments. Molly doesn’t seem like the person who takes this thing too seriously. She has other more important priorities like her family. Everyone needs a break, and this was exactly that. Just because I want to enter a bowling tournament doesn’t mean I have every intention on becoming a professional bowler. Molly enjoys eating and has every right to do so
