The Paqui One Chip Challenge has been withdrawn from stores after Harris Wolobah, a Worcester, MA high school student, passed away after eating the super spicy chip dusted with Carolina Reaper and Naga Viper peppers.

What fool thought of such a “snack”?

Kids. Yeah, people can be allergic to peppers. Sad.

While that is very sad and unfortunate, it is certainly not unexpected. I did the 2020 or 2021 chip and it was fairly hot, but not to a point where I felt sick afterward. Then I did the next one in the series and it was way hotter, grosser, and everything bad. The “after” was awful, so bad that I quit trying them for videos. They keep making them hotter, and what else could happen other than somebody eventually getting hurt as the years progress? They aren’t monitored in stores and anyone can access them, so this is not surprising at all. Way too hot and dangerous for kids. Sad for the family and also glad the company now knows to settle down.

    How does capsaicin kill someone?

First of all, they don’t even know if the chip was the actual cause of death. It was one of the last things he ate before he had the episode that led to his death, though. Correlation is not causation, although it’s not unreasonable to think that the chip was not at least a “contributing factor”.

    Bottom line:
    1. Nothing is safe. You could die randomly choking on a celery stick trying to eat healthy.
    2. Some things are much safer than others, statistically speaking. Probably, eating a pacqui chip is less safe than having a cool ranch Dorito.
    3. Don’t be stupid and do something just because “everyone else is doing it too”.
    4. If you are going to do something stupid or unsafe, be prepared for the consequences, but try to have a back-up plan or “help” ready nearby or quickly reachable.
    5. Don’t let a single instance be overweighted in your opinion on something—try to look at it objectively. Dying from a pacqui chip is probably about as likely as being in a fatal car accident—millions of people drive and will continue to do so every day, though

Isn’t that what “Joel Hansen Raw” YouTube channel is essentially?? I don’t think Joel makes $2 million for his 1 hour videos.

What is Raina’s OnlyFans account name, btw? Just asking for a friend…

Soft core? Lol I actually think you’d have a hard time finding somebody who wouldn’t. I don’t think I’d go into business with somebody who cannot spell were correctly though.

I picked up 5 of them the other day, before they got pulled off the shelves. So they’re still up sitting in the cabinet. I guess I got till March before they expire.
I was trying to find a few people to do the challenge with. But it’s kinda looking like I’ll be eating them all by myself. I’m starting to get a little worried.

@3:23, just put them in a ziploc bag and store them away for like 30 years. Will be worth thousands in a 25 years from now
