Can someone please explain to me how Cherish is even considered a semi-decent eater? Didn’t she eat like 7 hot dogs last year at Nathans?

Who said she was considered a semi-decent eater? I don’t think most people would agree with that statement.

Just because she is considered a “celebrity” in her hometown does not mean she is a good eater. In fact, it speaks volumes as to how un-talented the general population of her hometown is, compared to how “ultra-talented” she is.

Legit question. Where can you go to see who signed up for the qualifiers? I searched and couldn’t find anything.

@5:49 – I don’t think there’s public access to that info. Just have to wait and see who turns up the day of the contest. Until then, feel free to follow along with the most boring drama on the planet here these forums.

LOL— you can’t just go and “look-up” who tried to sign-up for the qualifiers, or even who was confirmed/accepted to compete. Sometimes MLE announces some of the eaters that are competing at a qualifier a couple days (or even the same day) before the event, but no guarantees.

That’s part of the fun of qualifiers, you never know who will be there (although the top MLE eaters, at least the ones who are friendly with each other, tend to talk and coordinate so that they all can have a qualifier to themselves with little competition).
Here’s a hint, since I assume you are doing a qualifier and are worried about some other, better eater showing up: it doesn’t matter–just eat your best. There’s 4 potential outcomes: 1. You win and you get a ticket to coney 2. you lose, but still eat enough to get a wild card invite to coney, 3/ you lose, but don’t eat enough to get a WC invite, and 4) you choke to death during the contest, and then nothing matters after that.

Just have fun. the fact that you’re trying to look up who is going to be at which qualifier tells me you probably aren’t gonna make the cut to go to the Big Show this year. SO again, just have fun and eat your best.

9:36 I’m not competing. Outcome #4 that you listed would be the most likely outcome if I did lol. Not a competitor. Just like to watch and be in awe of the insanity taking place.

What expenses does MLE cover, if any at all, for the finals?

I heard Molly was actually going to the DC qualifier

We hear the same rumor here every year. Nobody is going to believe Molly will go MLE until we actually see it.

8:17 – what could she possibly gain from eating at that qualifier other than joining MLE? I mean…. It would be cool to see, you know damn well that ain’t happening.
