The Chicago Tribune reports that Pat Bertoletti has withdrawn from the second round of America's Got Talent because he could not afford to leave Taco in a Bag for five days.

I don’t blame Pat.
First, no competitive eater is ever going to make it into the final round, going against others with more traditional, more widely accepted talent like singing or dancing.
Second, the top competitive eaters in the world have already proven themselves, at, at least in CE circles. “America’s Got Talent” is for those with something to prove in other forms of entertainment.
Third, TIAB represents Pat’s future. It puts money in his pocket and food on his table, long-term. AGT is just a quick shout out that only provides a cheap thrill and a quick laugh.

Pat IS focussing on his business. I do not think it hurt him but rather gave more publicity to the restaurant by being on the program. It’s another PR opportunity, nothing harmful.
